Ugh.
How to run in a 5k
How I did it: I ran three times a week, following the Couch to 5k program. My roommate also trained with me, but due to time restrictions, couldn't run the final 5k with me. The 5k was sooner (about four weeks!) than I should have been able to run the 5k, but adrenaline kept me going that day and I ran the whole thing!
Lessons & tips: A training program really helped. I don't think I could have done it otherwise.

As of today, I can run 2.5 miles without stopping, which is more than two-thirds of the way there!

On Saturday i found out that my boss had given me time off as i had requested so i signed up for the Girls on the Run 5k on May 2nd. i just finished the Couch to 5k program, so i’m ready! My sister is running in it, too, so i’m excited.

Now my thoughts turn to improving my running speed and actually completing a race… even if i have no chance of winning lol. i am actually inspired by my pastor who frequently runs for charity. i don’t know how much time i have to dedicate to this goal, but i’d like to complete a race by the end of the summer. i’m thinking that maybe the local Girls on the Run 5k on May 2nd may be the best time for me to complete this goal.

has been printed and taped to the door. Now I just need to get the times worked into my planner and away I go.
It’s been many years since I was on the cross country team. I would love to be able to run again.

so, i have officially started my training for a 5K run… And I will be signing up for Kimberton Run on Sept 27th. I expect to fully run it…
I am also signing up for a 20K (which is 13 1/2 miles) but I FULLY INTEND on walking 90% of that… That will be on Sept. 7th. I will be so proud of myself if I follow through with these goals! YIPpEE!!!

but for some reason, i want to become a runner. i can run a little over a mile but i hate every second of it… but i feel AMAZING when it is all over… Once, I even ran 2 miles w/o stopping!! LMAO, i know, it’s pathetic… haha, i’m just not a runner.
i dont know, i would love to be the kind of person that went running to relieve stress… getting up at the crack of dawn and breathing in all that good fresh morning air… ahhhh. anyway, i am going to set a goal of completing a 5K. I have to look into a training schedule to see what a reasonable time line for training would be.
wpartain is doing yard work.
Completed my first 5k in 28 minutes. Typically it takes me about 40 minutes to run 5k at a track. I sure was sore the next day!
I went to http://active.com and searched for a race in my area. It was so much easier than I thought. It really made me push myself even harder.:)
Lots of fun!
I finished the Boo run, main street lakewood ranch. The race went well. No problems, no injurys. I hope I am back on track. I ran a PR 20:35 and finished in the 12th spot. No way I can complain about that with only getting 10 runs in 2 months due to injuries. I am doing calf raises and stretching twice a day and it seems to be helping. Now its time to ramp it up, Harvest Hustle is in three weeks and I want to beak 20 mins and get a top 10 finish.
