funniculee is dredging up old memories of past literary loves
There are many many versions of this soup, but I think I have a go-to recipe for the ages now (I like lots of stuff in my borscht, and I like the veggies in big chunks). The best part about this recipe is that it is flexible and in song lyric form, so it’s easy for me to remember!
It’s a recipe from mandolin-player Peter Ostroushko’s mother. You can find the lyrics to his song “B-O-R-S-C-H-T!” (and the recipe I use, or a version of it – I like to replace the cabbage with homemade saurkraut) at his website here .
Share and enjoy!! (I’m making a big ol’ pot of this right this minute!)
