marry for love

I’d like to get married in the future. what I do not like to do is what some of my friends ended up with. Convenient marriages & fast marriages. Met him, liked him, met his family, married him within 6 months. That does not make sense to me.
I want to meet someone and be friends with them first, date him for at least a year before thinking of marriage. I surely do not want to wait 5 years, :s I’ll be 30 then.. but I want to take my time to know who he really is and what he is truly about.

I do not want to regret it later.

I want to fall deeply in love and marry the man that is perfect for me

Is there actually any other reason to marry….I think not

What other reason is there? Nothing else lasts. Nothing else endures the test of time, arguments, bankruptcy, infidelity, gravity, and all the fun stuff associated with old age.

When my husband gets paid he plops the stack of money down in front of me so I can budget it out for the week. Sometimes he hugs me and jokes, “You just married me for the money. You know it.” And I want to say:

honey, you make less than most men our age
you can’t spell worth a damn
you’re growing an impressive pot belly
your hairline is already receding
the car you bought for us is falling apart
we eat ramen noodles all week
and wear clothes left from high school
your mother is a manipulative wench
your father is an abusive alcoholic
and they both hate me…
i married you for love, because
no one else
would put up with this life
for what you bring home each week.
you don’t bring home the bacon,
you bring home
half priced bacon bits

and i love you more than i love myself.

What are the top three qualities you look for in a partner?

Fourth times the charm, I guess! I married my best friend in 2004 after enduring 3 bad marriages and it was all about love. He makes way less than me, is less educated, and yes, he IS easy on the eyes but he whispers “yes, you can” when I scream, “NO I CAN’T” and he is the ONLY person I can believe believes in me when I stop believing in myself. Yes, there is someone out there for everyone…...just look with your heart.
