Ahhh hot water! Everyone but me had a bath this evening
:( I was busy in the kitchen washing up with hot tap water, and preparing dinner. I’m soo going to get up and have a hot soak plus wash my hair without the aid of a bowl tomorrow morning!
On the downside, the toilet replacement left a gap in the carpet where the old one had been, and the close coupled cistern leaves a space on the wall where someone never tiled it before, so we now have those two things to fix.
Also, he got soldering stuff on my carpet and as he would be charged £50 to take our old loo to the tip he asked us to do it!! Now I feel a little resentful as the whole job cost us £975. I’m going to cost up the appliances tomorrow, to try to justify the expense. He took 5 hours total and didn’t even replace the old flue. I hope we haven’t been ripped off! I guess we were prepared to pay for peace of mind and finally having good hot water and a decent toilet.

The plumber is coming on Tuesday 23rd at 9am. The kids are on half term hols this coming week so I hope they behave themselves. We’ll have to get up and washed/dressed/toiletted before he gets here.
To think, Tuesday morning should hopefully be the last day I have to wash out of a bowl filled with water from the kettle! It’s a bit annoying having to wash feet and legs with the whole bowl thing. Still, at least I have clean water, eh?
I’ll be so glad when I can mark this off as done!

We need:
A new water heater
New WC
New taps with isolators on the sink.
This job has been quoted for us by a local plumber. No other plumbers made it to quotation phase, so as we are in a hurry (31st deadline) we went with this first guy. £975!! It’s a lot, but he’s ripping out and fitting, etc and who knows, maybe it is worth that much? I dread my dad asking me how much. He told me I should get a further quote to fit a Combi boiler and central heating in the house, but we certainly cannot afford that.

is very simple, alls I have to do is put the baseboard up behind the toilet. Been meaning to do it for the past year.
First, I have to measure it, then I need to cut the baseboard accordingly, including the angled corner.
Next, I have to nail it in place.
Finally, I need to caulk.

PippaD is mainly being clever!
I moved house about 6 weeks ago and as of yet the bathroom is suiting my/our needs, even has a shower!
My suggestion – move house!
