    Apartheid conditions 6 months ago

That’s what the WHO calls it. Two thirds of Canadian reservations don’t have clean drinking water. You’ll find low quality housing that cannot be maintained. Adictions are often rampant. People just scraping by.

I think more people should do this if they have the oportunity, but if you go seeking enlightenment, it may not be the enlightenment you were expecting.

This is a wind up seeing this goal. Putting it on hold as I am not in a position to achieve this right now.

There's no better place to stock up on fireworks for the holidays 2 years ago

Several years ago I went on vacation to visit family in Washington state around the July 4th holiday, and we decided to celebrate the family gathering with some dazzling aerial fireworks displays.

So we drove north of Seattle, past Everett to the Tulalip Indian Reservation. Inside that reservation is a place called “Boom City”, which is like a big flea market of nothing but fireworks stands (Only exists before New Year’s and July 4th). I remember seeing rows and rows of the most amazing, affordable and otherwise hard to find fireworks. Also large amounts of vendors there screaming at my family and I, wanting us to check out their selections of fireworks.

We probably bought fireworks from at least 10 different stands there, and I have no idea how much we spent on everything (not sure if I want to remember). We then drove back home and put on our own private fireworks show, lasting 2 hours at least.

So yes, visiting a Native American Reservation is truly worth it, even if it’s for a reason like the above.

    I always.... 3 years ago

wanted to do this since my eight grade reading teacher told my class about her living there for 3 years. I think it’s really disrespectful how our society today has cast aside the Native americans at the bottom of the list. I love their culture, sprituality, and the prosperity they have. I really do think it is time that a leader acknowleged the fact that we treat them like the “the untouchables” in the indian caste system, and do something to stop it.
