update my demo reel

I’m done with this for now… I’ve updated my DVD and my website, so you can actually see what I’ve changed if you want to. I need to do a little more upkeep on my website one of these days—that front page is a great place to put news, but it’s getting a little unwieldy. I need to reprint my reel booklets eventually too. I cut out a lot of student work, so now with the exception of one pretty logo, everything on my reel is something someone paid for… I also need to refresh my resume…

Even with a list of little things to fix, I have gotten over the big hump. I have a new reel for spring!

update my montage yesterday, incorporating a minor change that someone on that forum pointed out. Now I have to update everything else on my DVD and website…

I finished off the new edit and posted it to a motion graphics forum for comments. I’ve always told myself to do that, but never actually took the plunge. I decided that I’d rather hear bad news from complete strangers than never hear from clients…

I’m not done yet! I’ll probably need to make changes to the montage. I will also need to update all the suporting materials, including my DVD and website. My boyfriend is working this weekend, so I’ll have some time to work on things… I did grab the AFI movies from the library [they’re closed all weekend], and I’m going to reward myself for getting this far by watching one of them tonight.

The hardest part is always deciding what to jetison… sigh.

Now I just have to put it all back together…

You know, I’ve been really bad about this one. I’ve had a busy schedule in the last few weeks and have needed my time off to finish off other projects, like laundry. I still want to get this one done before that [admittedly arbitrary] deadline and I need to hunker down and do it…

Once I do, I’m going to drop by the library, where they’re holding at least two AFI movies for me…

I finally have space in my schedule to get this done! I’m hoping that I can work on it Thursday and Friday and get the bulk of it out of the way…

ideally, I want to do this either this week or the next. It’s way overdue!

I need to get started on this. I have a lot of new work that isn’t on my current reel, and it’s time to show it off… I plan on at least starting in on it this week. Although I’d love to finish updating everything by the end of this week, I think I’ll have enough else going on that it might not happen…
