I found that out in Arizona there is a place called Kitt Peak. Kitt Peak is a mountain which is home to a large and very important observatory center. Observatory’s need no light pollution to search the cosmos effectively, and Arizona actually has laws against light pollution. It’s very cheap to fly to Arizona in January, it’s something like 150’ish dollars round trip. Hopefully I can make it down there this winter. :D

I’m considering this done.
From my yard in Oswego I can see loads of stars.
I’m especially grateful for this (and this is the reason I’m marking this as done) because I since moving to the city I’ve only seen one star here – and it was a good chance it was a plane.
SO using the city (and my new home, as much as I want to fight it) as my new sky perspective I will consider Oswego the very dark and star-friendly place.

I drove my car 20 miles out of the college campus and parked my car next to a cornfield. I got out and just stood in awe of how many stars I could see. I am definitely going to do this again sometime soon but I want to be completely could off from civilization.

anj56 is trying to be positive about my life
There is a beautiful little beach town in India called Gokarna. My friends and I went there for a weekend; There is no better feeling then lying down on the beach and looking up at the stars. I have never ever seen more stars in the sky than there in Gokarna.

stars just have a way of making you relax. I seriously recommend this to anyone who is feeling stressed with their lives.

This is the only reason I ever thought I might want to go on a cruise. I live in a city and can never see th stars. I hear when you’re in the middle of the ocean, it’s mindblowing how many stars you can see.

Several nights during the summer, I can’t travel because of my job, but i take my sleeping bag and sleep in my driveway or backyard. It’s awesome! Dark, stars, cheap, FREE, and peaceful.
