Around the time of my birthday, will be a Meteor Shower.
I’m thinking of going to a national park and camping at least one night.

How I did it: I was at a friend's party and me and a mate went outside because it was too hot. Me and him ended up laying out all night on the grass watching the stars in the middle of a random field near her house. It was lovely and relaxing, with a friend it's perfect- total bliss. I felt really lucky to be there. Read how I did it…

How I did it: My sister and I went outside on a very dark night and sat on a cover together. It was in Greece, so the stars were always out, but so were the bugs. We had fun looking at the stars, but the bugs were annoying and it kind of ruined the experience. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I've done it several times - whenever I've been in a sparsely populated area with low light pollution, such as my aunt's farm up in the mountains, or in a national park, or when overnighting on a cross-country road-trip in a small town or village.Unless you live in a city centre, simply switching off all the lights around your house (perhaps you could get the neighbours in on the act?) can significantly improve star visibility. How I did it: Went to the observatory at Mauna Kea on the Big Island in Hawaii. It was so amazing! You can see the milky way, satellites orbiting the earth, just totally amazing. Read how I did it…

How I did it: One night I went into a field nearby with some friends while we were on a mission trip in Umtata, South Africa. It wasn't really all night, but long enough to see a few shooting stars. Amazing. I'm going to do it again soon, but in a new place. Stars are amazing anywhere, the less light the better. I've also once on the way to a camp stopped in the middle of a dirt road and turned off the car lights to see the stars… Read how I did it…

I drove my car 20 miles out of the college campus and parked my car next to a cornfield. I got out and just stood in awe of how many stars I could see. I am definitely going to do this again sometime soon but I want to be completely could off from civilization.

There is a beautiful little beach town in India called Gokarna. My friends and I went there for a weekend; There is no better feeling then lying down on the beach and looking up at the stars. I have never ever seen more stars in the sky than there in Gokarna.

This is the only reason I ever thought I might want to go on a cruise. I live in a city and can never see th stars. I hear when you’re in the middle of the ocean, it’s mindblowing how many stars you can see.
