She’s a funky, crazy Specialized 17” Front Suspension mountain bike. I bought a pair of lighter weight tires for the majority of the riding that I will do on easy, limestone trails. Then have the large nubby tires for more extreme rides (did I just say extreme rides? Yes, yes I did :)
Take a look and tell her how gorgeous she is.. she likes compliments :)

but it’s time to expland the herd. I’ve been wanting a mountain bike for a while now. Not anything too hardcore, front suspension. 80% of the time I’ll be riding on easy trails or trekking around town with my daughter. The other 20% will be on some pretty challenging glacial trails that we have out here.
A bike shop in town has a “cash for clunkers” program where you can turn in any old bike (like my 12 year old Schwinn hybrid) and receive 20% off of a new in-stock bike. I’m all about a 20% discount. They refurbish the old bikes, and donate them to boys and girls clubs around the city. A worthy cause.
Going there today to see if I can find a MTB. Cross fingers!

After looking on craigslist every day for a month, I found this Trek 4100. It’s three years old, in excellent conditon, and only cost $100.

It has been a great thing. I kept on telling people that I wanted a bike whenever they asked me what I wanted for my birthday/Christmas.
Now I am riding and loving it!

this is going to be my main form of transportation once I move,no more car for me:)I’ve been walking to work and school for the last 6 months or so and pan on staying car free after my move too:)A bike would definitely help that situation:)

Picked up a Pacific dual suspension bike today… has disc brake up front. Overall a pretty nice bike… expecially for $125. I was told that the bike sold for $1200 when new… had friend who wasn’t using his anymore and was willing to give me a sweet deal on it.
Rode around today… it’s weird being back on a bike after not having ridden for so long… definitely going to be working on my coordination… also have to get back in shape.. rode for maybe a half hour and felt whooped. Can’t wait to start riding more often and see some improvements.
