Jessy is tired.
and I did not do very well.
Jessy is tired.
and have bought a couple of unnecessary things.
But . . . but . . . they were on SALE!
I always buy my shower gels and so on when Bath and Body has its big sale twice a year, and I missed the sale last time. So I am starting to run out of bath gel. A person has to be clean, right?
My second indiscretion was at Kohl’s. I bought a patriotic T-shirt for just $5 to wear on July 4. Okay, what was I doing in Kohl’s in the first place, right? Should not have been there. But $5 for a t-shirt cannot be beat! And I promised myself if I bought it, I would throw away 2 old raggy ones from my closet.
Okay, that’s my confession for the week. Otherwise, I am doing okay with money.
Jessy is tired.
No more retail therapy! In June, I want to cut waaay back. Here are my rules, which I may add to later.
Stuff that is not allowed
1. No clothes-buying in June. I have enough!
2. Nothing for the house. It has enough. I am allowed the porch/patio chairs I ordered from Target. I ordered them in May, they were just backordered. They are gorgeous and cheaper than comparable items elsewhere.
3. No impulse buying. Make a list before going to grocery store and stick to it!
4. No being tempted by sales. Delete all email sale annoucements before opening.
Stuff that is allowed
1. Entertaining expenses, by which I mean buying pizza or something and inviting people over. Having company is therapy for me and for Nick.
2. Car expenses. I need the brakes fixed on my car, and that is nothing to pinch pennies on.
3. Any medical expense for Nick. If he needs it, he gets it.
4. Any maintenance expenses for house and grounds. A house is too big an investment to let anything slide.
5. Massages. I have already promised myself four weeks of Friday massages, followed by one every other week. It’s therapy for me!
