Strawberry Harvest Lager is a wheat beer made with real Louisiana strawberries, picked late in the season when they’re at their sweetest. This brew has earned quite a reputation in a short time, causing the brewery to up their production year after year. When this brew is found, emails and phone calls fly to friends informing them of the store’s location. Strawberry Harvest is a crisp, light lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness. It is wonderful with desserts or lighter fares such as salads and pastas. Fresh cheeses such as Burrata, chevre, Creszenza, mozzarella or Teleme pair well with Strawberry Harvest.

I went last December (first time back since the storm) 18 months ago

I moved out of Slidell in 2000 & made a couple trips back home since, but my most recent was the 1st after Katrina. Didn’t delve fully into New Orleans but drove through on I-10. New Orleans East, as you may know, is still a mess but the other areas have cleaned up well.

My wife and I were there last month (feb2008) and we already miss it.

    Homesick 2 years ago

Haven’t been back since the storm. Terrified actually, I’ve heard it still looks pretty bad in some spots and all my friends that returned right after are starting to move now. Expensive rent being the main cause, plus everyone said the feel of the place is starting to change. Gotta go back before the home that I knew totally fades away…

...amazingly it doesn't look like they've even had a storm ... 2 years ago

Just came back from NO and the air is clean smelling , the trees don’t show much if any damage and there were only two houses with the blue tarps on the roofs. My friend Laura lived in Slidell and was flooded out but had great insurance. She’s moved over to Metarie and still living the big easy. Her sister lives across the Ponch and there’s no damage to be seen anywhere. After a week of driving all around … and you’d think it was just another spring day.I never tire of the visits down there.

Hopefully I will end up back in NOLA for Spring Break to do more Katrina Relief with UConn Community Outreach. We may end up somewhere else on the Gulf Coast though. Either way, I know I will be back. I fell in love with the beautiful spirit and inspirational soul of the city when I was there in March.
