I ALWAYS make mistakes... 2 years ago

...And I never accept them, i just dwell on them and feel all sorry for myself. Cliched I know but everyone is human and should allow as many mistakes that are made (made within reason).

Also you cannot change the past…as evident as it is…so why worry about what you could have done instead of what you could do to not make the same mistake?

This is life. 2 years ago

Maybe expecting to not be human is unrealistic. I have a hard time not going 100% but that is just me. Doing any different would be against my character.

I’m going to cross this off my list and hope I can optimistically stumble towards a place where I accept myself.

Give self some slack 3 years ago

it’s about time to accept that there are always the good mistakes. it feels a whole lot easier to deal with failure once you’ve had a taste.

Make More Mistakes 3 years ago

Make More Mistakes is an initiative developed by Kathleen Bright (me!), to help others to learn from my experiences and to help myself develop humility & self-understanding. In it, I write about the mistakes I’ve made and am making in my life.

Make More Mistakes is a hybrid of personal blog and public resource. It works as documentation – a useful record of difficult procedures and tecnologies I’ve mastered, which anyone can turn to when necessary.

Make More Mistakes

Have gotten pretty good with this one... 3 years ago

Not sure why I put this one into my open goals. I have gotten pretty good at allowing myself to make mistakes. I do tend to go back and question why I made the mistake, but I think that is a part of life…without review of our past actions, how can we ever expect to learn from these mistakes.

I tend to look at it this way, mistakes are wonderful teachers. They push you when you need pushing and teach you lessons that help make you become a better person. I think the goal that has more meaning for me is the “have no regrets” goal, as mistakes I can live with and accept. It comes down to did I regret the “mistake” I made or did it teach me a valuable lesson.

Not sure where this quote came from (probably an old Chinese proverb), but I stumbled across it once and try to use it whenever I feel bad for making a mistake.

There is no fault in falling…the fault lies in not getting up.

So true, so true…hope it helps you, as it has me.

Forgive yourself 3 years ago

Admit the mistake. Learn from it. If it was a laspe in moral judgement, ask forgiveness from God and from the injuried party. But then accept that forgiveness.

Aside from morality, explore the possibilities. You couldn’t learn to walk or ride a bike without falling. What are you afraid to fall now?
