Evelyn_L Covering the Penn State/Iowa vball game.
How I did it: I went with my best friend and her boyfriend and a couple of their friends. I'm not very outdoor-sy so I had some doubts. But I was hanging out with some fun people, so I figured why not? It's not like I had ever experienced it before. We ended up camping in the middle of the woods and we had to walk up this horrible hill that seemed to last forever. I thought I was going to pass out. However, after we finally reached where we need … Read how I did it…
How I did it: When I was a kid my family went camping all the time, but when my parents divorced we stopped going. Recently we found out that my mom's boyfriend had never been camping before- and neither had my fiance! So we drove on up to the Blue Ridge mountains and camped. We went to a campsite in the woods and set up our tents. We played games and sat around the fire roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. It was cold and the ground was hard and covere… Read how I did it…

How I did it: My wonderful fiance asked me whether I would like to go away on holiday, and since I was at that point in time attempting to calculate how much in debt we actually were I wasn't overly receptive. Eventually though his constant nagging and moaning wore me down (*cough*) and I decided that yes I could in fact do with a long weekend in a luxery hotel, including spa and bar. Unfortunatly for me that wasn't exactly what he had in min… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Myself and my wife took my T reg transit to the south of france loaded with everything you could think of, We got the tent set up, boy was that hard!We then got everything into where it needed to go and found that their was creepy crawlies in with us, well that was me couldnt sleep for the night, Set up the cooking gear tried to cook a meal then went to the chippy. How I did it: My friend R. contacted me about going camping. It’s one of the things that I planned on doing this year, so I excitedly agreed. I was finally able to use the camping equipment that I bought with my ex the year before. After dropping the kids off, I changed, got some camping essentials, and was on my way. I thought it would only take me one hour, but it took two hours. It started getting really dark, and… Read how I did it…

When I was in gradeschool and high school camping was a regular activity. I would camp with the Girl Scouts at least twice a year. The farthest I’ve gone is on a mountain in Chiba Japan wherein I participated in a Girl Scout exchange program. I’d like to try camping again now that I’m in my twenties. This time perhaps with friends, family or a special someone. =) Nothing beats the great outdoors!

Another summer over. The nearest I got was putting my tent up in the living room to show Paperfaerie how it fitted together. Oh well, maybe next year…
I won’t go until next summer, but I plan on getting something each month. I ordered a tent that should be here this week. Next month – a good sleeping bag.

Every summer up on the Island of Bois Blanc, there is Harmonfest, a celebration of family, friends and good beer. It is a week of campfire folk songs, yard games and exploring the outside wilderness of Michigan all around the Fourth of July. At night you can hear Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet each other on the shore as you drift slowly into Sleepland in your tent, right after you listen to Paul’s dad sing his Sixties protest songs (and his remixes of them) around the campfire.
I love this time.

I’m going on a field camp for uni (Biodiversity and Conservation course) in 4 weeks :D
We’re camping just outside of this kind of open range zoo for four nights and five days, with NO SHOWERS – yes this is real camping :S hehe lucky they have toilets :D
We’re suppose to be surveying species diversity of the land around to zoo because I think they’re going to be regenrating the land which has been used for sheep grazing.
Even though this is for a major part of our grade, as we have to do a written and oral report on it, I’m really looking forward to it! Our class is fairly small… about 20 people going, and we all get along so its nice :D but we will all smell bad at the end!
I’ve been camping before but only for festivals, and also went on a family holiday in a static caravan, but I have never done real out in the wilderness in a tent for a week kind of camping. Would love to do this sometime and see a bit more of the countryside.
As a scout leader and if I’m going to travel the world then I think this is something I’m going to have to get used to!
