whom, by the way, in case you care, is a lovely man who talks too much. He’s always talked to much. But I like him. He gives my mouth a run for it’s money.
he said, and I was in AWE, that “SURVEY SAYS! THE STRATTERA APPEARS TO BE THE CAUSE OF YOUR HEADACHES!”
holy shit. Did I hear right?
He looked up Strattera in the PDR (as he doesn’t have much to do with it) and it doesn’t say much about headache. Well, it says that strattera and a placebo have about the same occurance of headache. But it says nothing about migraine pain. Hm. Well, he says, just because it isn’t written, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
He wants me to get offa the strattera, if possible and start something else. So, when I go see the new crazy doctor in 10days, this will be the first thing I say to him…I need that sorta med, I can’t stand the headache.
What a relief. I’m not so nuts after all!
It’s good just to be validated.
okay so I am a nutjob…but who’s not?6 years ago
my head hurts.
My eyes hurt. My throat hurts. My ears hurt.
Crap, and I have to work tomorrow. I’m going to bed. screw this. 6 years ago
I have this lingering smell thing. I think most things smell sour (particularly clothing). I hate the way a cold frosty beer tastes (HOW UNLIKE ME!) and coffee, unless made by my Driver, is mostly unbelievably disgusting (sooooooooo off the wall).
It’s this sour thing that is awful. Like laundry you’ve left in the washing machine for 2 or 3 days. It’s just disgusting.
Well, March 9th is almost here. 6 years ago
they are back, with a vengence. It sounds like a bad B movie.
So, I gave in. Or gave up, I can’t decide. I made an appointment with my favorite neurologist. He told me in a very nonformal setting that he’d put me on topamax if given the opportunity.
Well, I’m going to give him the opportunity.
And, I found that it MUST be my Strattera (at the 80mg dose). Once I started back up with it, the headaches returned.
And, that excedrin migraine stuff? It makes the rebound headache so bad it’s not worth taking.
So, March the 9th. I am pretty excited. 6 years ago
‘understand my migraines’.
Okay, here it is, I STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND! man, my head hurts. Meebee I should just go to bed. 6 years ago
It’s sorta spinny headed, painful thing on the right side of my head that is making me so nauseated.
My barking dog doesn’t help. Neither did the frosted mini wheats I ate.
uuuuuuuuuuugh~! 6 years ago
and I haven’t had a headache ALL YEAR!
I also can’t pay shit for attention, but I don’t have a headache.
I still can’t pay attention for shit. 6 years ago
I am thinking, just thinking mind you, that my headaches started when I started taking strattera. (oh I love that drug). hm. MOST INTERESTING.
I am taking close to the maximum daily dose—I started there, I didn’t start taking less and go up, I started taking 80mg a day. So, now 3 days ago, I said, how about if I cut it in half? I wonder if I would get the same ‘effect’- meaning I can pay attention and whatnot- and not have all these headaches.
I did have one on day one…that can’t really count. None since then. AND I haven’t had any pain meds (r/t surgical pain) for 2 days. SO…I’m just thinking…....
BTW, Strattera doesn’t claim to cause migraines. Doesn’t say thing one about it. 6 years ago
except increase my nausea.
So, I was at my NP’s office today. We’re thinking about a beta blocker for me. However, I am more convinced that it’s my strattera. SO, a new crazy dr. as mine is pretty inflexible and DOES NOT leave me with a good feeling when I leave the office.
She, my NP gave me 8 samples of the Maxalt, so I can have 8 whole headaches and get rid of them with success. YAY ME! 6 years ago
was truly the very best med thus far. Removed nausea and headache, with no really sleepiness.
It’s expensive 6 tabs for $50. I really can’t afford that. I really can’t. Not when I have a headache nearly every day of my life.
So I tried Imitrex. But the headache didn’t get better AND the nausea got worse.
I don’t know what I am going to do. I can’t take the OTC migraine med which may have helped a teensy bit as it contains so much aspirin. I’d hate to be so anti-coagulated for surgery on Friday. 6 years ago
it’s maxalt, which by the way is quite good thus far. I could use something quite good.
I’m deferring opinion though, until it’s repeatedly successful. 6 years ago
my ‘script company moves like snails.
My migaine is here. I don’t have enough meds to fight it. I am miserable.
I have to go to bed.
I am in so much pain. 6 years ago
I had a headache each day for 7 days. MOST PAINFUL!
I spoke with local yokel neurologist (I LOVE LOVE LOVE having specialists mostly at my disposal). he is 99.9% certain that it is a headache, vs a growth, that is causing my discomfort.
That’s good enough for me.
It’s also interesting to note that he would treat me with topamax or some such to PREVENT said migraines rather than just putting out the fire with them. So, I am going to ask for that approach rather than taking this Fiorcet (did I mention this shit knocks me out??).
It means ANOTHER pill daily, but it’s better than the other option, which is alot of discomfort. 6 years ago
as I have had more migraines in the last 2 weeks than I have had in my entire life put all told!
I have to take A LOT of the Midrin for it to work well. That is a bummer, and it takes a long time for the pain to go away.
oiyyyyyyyyyyyyyy veyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 6 years ago
and I have to work tomorrow.
I’m going to bed. Uncle, take your turn.
I need Midrin. 6 years ago
Right between the eyes, spreading to the left side of my head. I’m not photosensitive this time (phew), but sound sensitive (some), but nauseated A LOT!
I have an appt. with my np in the morning. 6 years ago
I don’t feel so good. Somewhere between the icepick in my head down to the nausea rumbling in my stomach….....ick.
I’m going to go watch Tivo’d “that 70’s show”. I gotta find some way to get my strattera and wellbutrin in me.
I need gingerale.
