How I did it: Being able to do this was a bit of a bitter sweet story. I totalled my car, and with the money I got from insurance I was able to put a deposit on a new car and pay off my credit card. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I sat down and wrote out how much I make and how many bills I had to pay that were not my credit card.I then found out how much total out of my paycheck went to bills, how much I needed for necessities, and I wrote this on a month to month basis and paid the rest to my credit card.Every month I would do this (for every week of the month) and I continued until I had a zero balance. How I did it: Well, I used my savings. Not the best option, but it was either that or face an additional $39 "membership fee" So I had a decision to make. . . use the savings to pay it off NOW, or add an additional $39 to my balance for no reason. I chose to use my small amount of savings. I am now broke, with no savings, but no credit card debt, either! I'll use my tax return to supplement my savings account. :) Read how I did it…

I kept as strictly to the plan as possible and reduced my credit debt by $1300 in June! I’m heartened by the fact the number in front of my amount owed has changed from a 3 to a 1 in just one month :D

I’m getting tired of seeing this goal on my list and not being able to do anything about it. Same old problem: I pay part of it, then my mother uses the card again, saying she’ll pay me back, but she rarely does. So I never make any progress.

My goal this year was to pay off my credit card debt. It got up to $2500 and I worked an extra day for a couple months while another employee was out from a surgery and applied that money towards my debt. I also had opened an account for a free $100. I also used part of my large tax refund. I got it down to $900 so things were looking good that I would be able to pay it off.
My husband was out of work for two months and we used our emergency fund to pay some bills. Well our cat got really sick and had to have surgery and I had to put his vet bill on the credit card, but it is worth it to see him back to his old self again. Plus I’m about to put my health insurance on there too since I don’t want to risk going without it this summer.
That means my credit card debt will be back up to $1900. Almost where I started in January. I’m not going to make very large payments for awhile until our emergency fund is back to where it should be either. It’s so depressing.
