lessons and practicing — 2 years ago
I practiced my clarinet for awhile today, and also took a recorder lesson from a very good teacher here in town.

I bought a clarinet today. A new plastic student model, which should be good for my intentions. I also have a list of local clarinet teachers, and will try and get a lesson set up for next week. I spent a little time today re-learning how to wax the cork and properly put the clarinet together without bending the keys, and I played a little to re-familiarize myself with the fingerings. I don’t have any idea how I actually sound compared to what I am supposed to sound like, but I am loving it and am happy I did it.
the bass-clarinet is very big with a big heavy case. Clarinet is smaller and will be easier for me to start with. I haven’t played music forever, so I am looking forward to getting back into it.
I am definitely going to pick an instrument to master. Mainly because the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with is a professional musician, and I would really like to be able to play something with him eventually. So, I would really like to relearn the bass clarinet, which I played in high school. I will be looking into it this weekend.
