I am getting my 7 year old to watch them now that he’s old enough and he loves them. Eventually, we’ll watch all the behind the scenes on them as well. I am SO happy about spreading the love of all nerd-like-things to another generation. It brings a tear to my eye…sniffle…sniffle…
By the way…Legolas and Aragorn are mine. Hands off ladies!

Last week I found out I won a contest to see Star Wars in concert where they have a symphony playing while a narrator narrates the film. Not only did we win 4 awesome tickets, we get a meet and greet with C3PO! How frickin’ cool is that? I’m taking my 7 year old, my cousin and her son who’s 10 and the boys both love Star Wars. It should be really neat!

A friend of mine recently turned me onto this show and I LOVE IT! OMG- it’s so freakin’ hilarious. It’s so refreshing to see nerds, imperfect and lovely as they are, on TV. I can’t believe I have just barely started watching it; it’s right up my alley. I highly recommend it to anyone-nerd, geek or (sigh) a functioning sociable person.

Okay NEXT year I so want to be there! My cousin and I made off the cuff comments about going and sure enough it has come and went without nary a word- YEAH RIGHT! I can’t go anywhere without seeing some news on it! Ug I am so jealous! We want to take our boys too. So many good people and events that it makes me cry a little inside missing it, hahahaha. I only live 6 hours away! Next year I say, next year…

I am totally geeking out! I saw Star Trek on opening night and it was freakin’ amazing! My son and cousin went and saw it and we all loved it. I want to see it over and over and over again. Oh my goodness EVERYONE was amazing, although I felt that Nero could have been meaner and nastier. Other than that, BA-LOWN AWAY!

My son, me, my cousin and her son are ALL going to see that new Star Trek when it comes out. I am so freaking excited! Simon Pegg and John Cho on one screen! Be still my beating heart! I love exclamation marks!

I have gotten my 7 year old into Star Tre-TNG! Now I have someone to watch reruns with me. He loved the exhibit at our Science Center last month as well.

So I went to the exhibit and it was awesome but we weren’t allowed to take pictures! There were actual people standing guard, if you will, in the exhibit to prevent you. I as totally bummed but I will forever remember walking on a replica of the Enterprise D bridge, sitting in the captain’s chair, at the helm and at tactical. We saw actual costumes, Marina Sirtis is that petite, and Jean-Luc’s uniform is NOT forgiving at all if you have put on a few pounds, and many more neat outfits. We also were able to see replica masks/make up for various villians and characters such as the Borg, Odo, and Klingons. A dream fulfilled…

the Star Trek exhibit at my local science center either this Friday or next week. I am super psyched and I am hoping to get a picture of me in the ST:TNG captain’s chair. If I can remember my camera I will TOTALLY post the pic. I went to the Star Trak ride in Las Vegas about 9 years ago and it was fun and I’m hoping to share this geekness with my son.

So I feel I am really a nerd AND a geek but at times they intersect but one of my goals for the geeky side is going to Comic Con one year in San Diego. I live in Phoenix, so it’s not that far. My cousin and I have talked about going one year so maybe 2009 will be the year of the geek! I think my son would really dig it too :)
