is my geek in shining armor? I long for the day when he finally arrives. Because guess what? I’m ready. But only if he is. 4 months ago
Hahaha. When I was talking to that guy on that awesome date, I was a little afraid at first to let my geekiness outta the bag, just slightly apprehensive, but after he talked a little about comics and superheroes, and stuff like that, the floodgates were open. And over the years, I’ve come to notce that geeks or nerds or anything like that are of all ilks. Be it in superheros, fantasy football (yeah I’m talking about YOU guys), history, technology, etc. You name it, they are in all arenas. I am proud to be a geek of many things. For example, the history geek in me wants to visit civil war battlefields across the U.S. and the sports geek in me wants to visit ballparks across the U.S. and the sci-fi geek in me wants to take the trek to San Diego someday for Comic-Con.
It would be best of me to not ever limit my geek potential or dreams.6 months ago
As I did last year, I had a freakin’ blast and so did my family and friends. The things I love best about Comicon is that we are like minded for the most part, it’s all for fun and we all get to GEEK OUT! Here are some highlights since reading long ass paragraphs are no one’s idea of fun!
-One of my most favorite people in the world, Wil Wheaton was there and I got to see him twice! ( I was way too shy to actually go up to him though…silly me)
-I met some really nice people just in conversations.
-I saw some crazy good costumes and dedication in people and these people came in ALL shapes, sizes, ethnicities, abilities and more :)
-A VERY forward gentleman that I talked to casually KISSED my hand when he introduced himself (very nice, but it honestly freaked me a out a little)
-I got to see Leonard Nimoy AND Stan Lee (I think I can die a happy nerd now).
-I was able to see some extremely talented artists that I feel are incredibly overlooked and taken for granted.
-The most gorgeous man was there and I saw him several times and I am completely smitten by this man…sooooo gorgeous….swoon
-The “Eureka” panel with Jamie Paglia and Wil Wheaton was AWESOME, it’s one of my favorite shows now.
There was so much there that there is NO way I could get it all in and I hope you will someday visit a Comicon of your own :) 8 months ago
I have SO much to post but all I will say for the time being is that it was SO FREAKIN’ AWESOME!
Update coming soon but for now…this picture is when I got to see Wil Wheaton and hear him read from his various pieces and interact and just be a general awesomely cool guy with about 400 of us :)
