get the house sorted 3 months ago

I would dearly love to be the kind of person who knows where everything is and can find what I’m looking for at a minutes notice but i’m not :-) I can’t even find my diploma/certificates which would be a great help to find a better job.

The problem seems to be too much stuff and not enough room for it, so I’m de-cluttering like crazy :-)

I’m a woman on a mission to get the house organised and sorted, and maybe even find my certificates :-)

new week 5 months ago

only 3 days before my ‘last’ exam. ONLY 3 days. Priorities: revise, eat and sleep. Do I go to the library or stay at home? Not sure. What I definitely need I ‘office hours’. Ok, so I get up at 9, work from 10 – 18 with one hourly brake and 3 15 mins brakes at 12, 13, 16:30. I like that plan, let’s see how it all works out.

Starting today. 5 months ago

I suppose I should start with the right attitude: motivation. But that’s exactly what I’m lacking. Will have to develop one on the go I guess. Com’on! I’m 25, in debt, single, unorganized, messed up my degree… and so on and so on. I want to change that, I want to be happy. I need to start hanging out with inspirational crowd. Should I quit Zero? Oh dear, not a great idea considering that the money’s pretty good.

What do I REALLY want to today? Chill out and have some fun? But that’s exactly what got me to the situation I’m in now. I want to be organized, besides I want to learn Spanish for myself not only to finish my degree.

OK, ready set go. Let’s see how much can I get done in 1 hour.

Why 10 months ago

I think becoming more organized is definetly on the top of my list. I’m in high school and am taking a series of AP classes and extracurriculars. I find myself struggling to keep up and to remember homework that I don’t usually get (ie instead of working out of the book I get a handout, ect) and I hate having to do homework last minute. I think this will also be a step in caring my procrastination.

becoming more organised 14 months ago

I’ve been using the calendar reminders in my phone often over the last few months, and have really noticed an improvement in my organisation. I’ve been using it to note what I need to buy, sites to visit, bills and all sorts of things. Whenever I catch myself saying ‘I must remember to call so and so’ I make a reminder and set a time to do it. Oh what a great feeling feel more organised and have more mindspace to do the more important things, like daydreaming :) a

Drawers 15 months ago

I’m going to look at drawer dividers at the shops today. I can visualise the order I’m about to create. Not sure if most people would get so excited about drawer organisation. I think it’s the Virgo in me!

I'm going to start with 17 months ago

My work in September when I go back to college. I’m going to Keep all my work in files and type up all my notes.
I’m going to organise my time better from now. I’m guna spend less time on the computer and more time organising all my stuff, and throwing things out that I dont want.
I’m going to throw out all my old clothes and if I bring food upstairs I’ll take the plates and things downstairs.
In general, I’m going to make my whole life much more organised.

Created a spreadsheet of all courses I'm thinking of doing... 17 months ago

It sounds geeky but I just had to do this, as I had lots of bits of paper with notes on all the courses, and dates and stuff.

Now all the information is consolidated I feel calmer, and more likely to make a wiser choice about the courses.

Being organised really does make me feel better! :o)

Consolidating goals :o) 18 months ago

I have worked out that consolidating goals is the way to go.

I have 3 goals I can group together (possibly 4).

1) Volunteer work
2) Learn sign language
3) Move out of comfort zone
4) Meet new people

If I volunteer working with deaf people, can you see how all these can be grouped. I will also need to be 5) organised and 6) be on time (also goals).

It might even 7) boost self esteem!

Anyone else have any ideas about consolidating their goals in to ONE big task?

I’d recommend this for lazy people like me ;o)

Organised my Email system 18 months ago

I have a folder called Done which I move ALL completed or processed emails.

The only emails left in my inbox are things that have yet to be completed, or ones which are awaiting a response.

This means I don’t lose important emails, and don’t forget to do things. It can also mean if I’m in another place, i.e. not at home I can send myself an email of things to do via my mobile (cell) phone or from an internet cafe.

I feel good becoming more organised.

When I was having a shower ealier, I was smiling the first deep felt smile in ages, thinking about all the tasks on 43 Things that I’ve actioned or are moving towards.

43 Things is truly the best organisation tool I’ve ever used. I tend to lose bits of paper, and I hate using handhelds, but as I’m on my computer a lot this totally makes sense.

Well hurrah :o)
