so that should help. It’s hard right now at work because with this crappy economy situation right now, they’re pushing “lean” thinking and operating, which translated means fewer people doing more work, but still doing it perfectly. That sorta puts a lot of pressure on everyone.

Well, I’ve relocated to my third store in one month… as soon as I just start getting to know what the general routine is, I get moved. At my last store, I didn’t even have time to meet everyone before I was whisked away to work at another location! I’m thinking that I just may be able to stay at the store I’m at for the time being. It’s been extremely stressful, but I’m happy about a couple of things… the people at the stores that I’ve had to leave didn’t want me to leave, even after only working with me for a couple weeks (made me feel good!) and I’ve also learned that I’m more flexible than I thought I was, with being able to just up and switch stores like that while being able to maintain the quality of work that I’m used to.
For the last week I have been leaving the office by 6pm and have also stopped taking my secure ID home so that I can’t log into work remotely.
Suddenly my evenings seem much longer and I actually have time to relax!
Last year I realised that all the unpaid overtime hours I was putting in were a) unappreciated and b) leaving me so tired that I had no energy left in my leisure time. Time to start leaving at a decent hour, and enjoying more time with friends, family or just vegging out on the sofa!
my small enjoyments are:
(Renewalsh, thanks !)
I think solving this work life balance issue will be the most important step in my pursuit to find happiness.
