well it be that time o year agin when us piratical folk dust down the cutlass and unstuff the parrott for a day of barnacle scraping scurvy causing merrimemt with grog and other doings 2 years ago

It was a great success in that many people knew my plan. Unfortunately I had the flu that day and spend the day asleep. Arghhh. 5 years ago

So I went to me Raster Graphics class today, Savvy? And the scurvy land lubber says to me “I didn’t realize you were gang affiliated,” as I had me pirate lass’s band on me head. I say “No, it be talk like a pirate day!” And he says “OH YEAH I forgot!” And that brought up the whole bleedin’ conversation, even me scalawag professor knew about it, says I.

Saw a book the other day called “Women were Pirates, Too” so then I looked on the internet to see if there was any info there. Turns out there were quite a few famous ones. Apparently pirates thought it was bad luck to have women on board. Hmmmm. 6 years ago

I use a web-based IM client called meebo. In honor of “International Talk Like a Pirate Day” they created “Pirate Speak”. When turned on, all incoming and outgoing IMs are translated into pirate talk.

It’s pretty cool!

Another Talk Like a Pirate Day has come and gone . . . and we did celebrate. We didn’t go as all-out as we could have (my son decided that he’s just “not into pirates” right now – what a SCROOGE :D). But I did wear my skull and crossbones t-shirt (The floggings will continue until morale improves), and I did do some good pirate talking. ARRRRGH!!!!!
