Raise the funds to give Cancer Patients a Day of Pampering at a Spa

But I want to re-evalute it and come up with another idea of how I can assist those suffering through this disease and the pain of the treatment because I realize they may not be able to utilize the facilities of the Spa.

Well I guess it really began with this terrible disease Cancer that claims so many lives, has so many survivors to tell their stories, and impacts so many. And then there is me, who has been very fortunate in her own life and wants to give something back.

So..I had one of my goals to Give more than Receive. And then for another goal I had put Use my Gift Card for European Tan and Spa. That got me to thinking that although I have wanted to use it many times in the last year it has just sat and that someone else out there would have really benefited. Someone such as an individual who is in the fight of their life and could use some emotional, physical, spiritual pampering. So I thought that perhaps what I should really do with my Gift Card is donate it to someone under such circumstances. But to be honest I had this inner turmoil. I wont get into all the reasons why I didn’t think I could bring myself to giving it up but it lead to an idea. I shared this idea with my sister and it became a bigger and bigger concept as we talked about it. So big that it began to feel almost too big to take on at this exact moment.

So I am starting small and see how its first recieved and then perhaps it will grow into what I am envisioning.

For those who are just “visiting” perhaps you’d like to take the idea and run with it yourself. For those who are friends or family perhaps you’d like to join me in the venture.

What I want to do is quite simple. I want to collect Donations to purchase Gift Card(s) for Spa Treatments and donate them to the Cancer Centre, or a suitable organization if one exists, who would then pass them on to Cancer Patients. I will also be talking with friends and family who aren’t here to raise the proceeds so it may only take small denominations from each individual. I am also thinking that I could make some homemade cards with inspirational quotes to package with the gift cards.

Eventually I hope this will grow much larger and reach the world by way of a Web Site, an organization of sorts which would allow people to donate online and they would get something sent to them to remind them of gift they gave and the lives impacted. I am interested in any ideas people would like to share.
