become valedictorian

I want to become valedictorian of my high school class, with intellect, insight, and knowledge surpassing all around me.

I hope I can make it =)

I had no idea Freshman year that the competition would be as fierce as it was. I was number 6 in my class of 750 with 5 PAP classes. I am talking about looong nights here, but this was nothing compared to this year. This year I have managed to be 3 out of 716 and I am taking 4 AP classes and 3 PAP; I just do not see how much more I can do to become number 1. I been up to at least midnight for about 50% of the school days this year and sometimes I wonder if I really have a life outside of school. Other times I ask myself whether Is it really worth it trying to be number one and working my butt off and hardly sleeping, when I can have so much extra freetime and be number 30 or so? I still do not know the answer to this question and I continue on. I guess the idea of something great in store for me awaits and this gives me the nerve (if I still have any) to go on.

Wow, I’m doing unbelievably well in class these days. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for me. An algebra quiz and a reading quiz tomorrow. Let’s see how I do. (And there could be another unexpected English quiz, but I’m such an English nerd, that never bothers me.)

I’ve just skipped a grade, and now I’m faced with the challenges of being in the eighth grade, where – next to all the fun and perks – there’s competition in the air. Everyone’s expecting me to steal the title of valedictorian (the whole skipped-a-grade thing has a lot to do with that) and I’m hoping not to disappoint (my classmates, of course, but most importantly, myself.) I aced the English pop quiz, but there’s an algebra quiz tomorrow, and I have to see if math will be my weakness this year or not. I’ve got my fingers crossed and my faith in God. Hoping for the best.

Well, I used to think I was pretty ultra-fantastic-smart. Now that I’m going to public high school and I have the world’s only jock/brainiac in my class, I’m not so sure.

I used to feel certain of becomign valedictorian. Now I’m just . . . Aaaargh! Seriously, this kid doesn’t apply himslef, he hates school, he devotes all his time to sports, he screws around (or so I’ve heard), and he just doesn’t care about grades.

YET SOMEHOW HE HAS STRAIGHT A’S!!!
