    Pain and more pain! 3 days ago

    Sigh….I’m really not liking this situation. More than ten years ago I was hit by a car, my ankle was fractured and I was in a cast for two months. School was about to re-open and off comes the cast and everything seems ok, but it isn’t any more. The same spot has been ‘acting up’ for a couple years now. I can always tell when Christmas is around the corner, b/c my foot reacts to the coldness! Any great amount of activity on it and I’m in pain the next day…but it usually subsides and then I go back to my normal routine, so I never paid it much mind.

    However, I don’t know what it is about this time, but maybe it’s just a sign to go see about my ankle and not prolong it any further until nothing can be done. I’m very active! The last pain period started after I played football, then I ran a half-marathon a couple days after that (WORDS CAN’T DESCRIBE THAT STRIKING SENSATION OF PAIN!)... and now every Saturday I’m dancing. So either it’s not getting time to do it’s usual ‘healing’ or there’s really something wrong! But I can’t sit and do nothing about it anymore b/c it’s keeping back my life and it’s really painful…not to mention I walk on my toes….I really can’t take the pain.

    So first step…I’m going to go get an x-ray done and hopefully from that someone can say what the problem is. If I know the problem I can draft a path to a possible solution. I’m not going to lie…I’m scared b/c this injury is over a decade old…and if I’m told I can’t dance anymore I’ll cry…yes literally I’ll cry…like for days!!! I really hope it’s not too late; that I can figure out what’s wrong; and that there’s a simple solution…something like a couple weeks in a cast I won’t mind…no surgery stuff. Keeping fingers crossed (I usually say and toes but…).

    Just doing chaduranga to upward dog every day, and relying on my tbig toe for balance helps. Both my big toes still get stiff, but as long as I’m doing yoga I’m working on it.
