I’ve just returned from my very first conference. It was exciting, useful, scary and exhausting – 100% worth the money and time. Not only did I learn loads of useful skills, I also met a bunch of great people and received some positive feedback about my writing.
Definitely up for attending next year. 15 months ago
The conference has been announced so I’m going to fill in my application form this weekend as an early birthday present (to myself!).
Excited and anxious. It will be the first time that I manifest as an author at a public do. 18 months ago
I received an email with a tentative date for a conference that I’d like to attend and have already booked a hotel.
Waiting for a confirmation from the venue. 19 months ago
There are tons of great writing conferences in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. I’d love to go to one, but for now, I’m registered for Northern Voice 2010, a blogging conference. And I guess blogging is a lot like writing so this might qualify. 21 months ago
I’ve found a great writing retreat in May. Not exactly a conference, admittedly, but close. Agents and published authors will be attending.

I did want to go to this, but having weighed up the pros and cons, I’ve decided not to book on this one. Firstly, it’s too far away and secondly, decent accommodation in the city costs a bomb.
Instead, I’ve decided to concentrate on my writing, attend the local crit group & perhaps try to do a masterclass in London next year. That way, I’ll be able to meet up with old friends as well. There are also a couple of festivals that I’d like to go to. 2 years ago
There is a conference that I am seriously considering attending in Nov. The main thing putting me off is the price, but I might be able to wangle some of this as a birthday present. Definitely erring towards it than against. 2 years ago
I’m so glad I went. Being around all those literarily like minded people (for a change) re-inspired me. I’m setting a new goal for next year: Next year, I will have a completed piece to show a publisher and/or an agent in a one-on-one session.
All of the breakout sessions were good and the keynote speaker on Friday night, Tess Gerritsen, was absolutely fabbity-fab-fab! I cannot say enough nice things about her. She was very accessible and grounded, gave a lot of solid practical advice, and was an all-around fantastic speaker.
I networked a lot and met many fascinating people. Three writing groups invited me to attend their sessions this month! Maybe now I won’t have to try to start my own group.
I’m already looking forward to next year. 2 years ago
Our state Writers’ Federation Conference is going to be held in May. It’s 2 1/2 days, within a hour drive time, and reasonably priced. I think this one would be do-able, so I registered. 2 years ago
I’m officially on the roster to attend my conference on Oct. 18, 2008 – SO EXCITED!!! 3 years ago
I went to this conference years ago. I loved it. It was hosted by Squaw Valley Writers. They don’t offer this one anymore, which is too bad. It was for people writing about wilderness, nature, etc.

I would like to go to another conference, but it’ll be a while, so I’m moving this off my list. 6 years ago
