A) Do you see them?
B) Do they see you?
If the answer to both is yes, then you can learn to control it. It’s not easy. And it may always be scary. It just won’t be AS scary . . .
Not worth it!
i know ghosts, if you try to beat them thats when they come and get you.seriously, they are evil, never stop fearing them

I never lived in cowering fear of ghosts, but the topic made me uneasy. I suspect that this was because I had seen too many people enter upon the topic with too little reverence. Just reflect on every dunderklumpfen you’ve known who picked up a Ouija board. I’m not going to try to summon anything, and I’m pretty aware of the severity of the divide between the living and the dead, but I’m not afraid. I have come to view this like I view large carnivores—perhaps you could have trouble with them, but most people will not have a problem, and most who do were asking for trouble. I’m not afraid of bears, so why should I be afraid of ghosts?

I am a living testament to the fact that we fear what we do not understand. Having paranormal experiences simply was not an acceptable way of life in my family. The infrequent psychic experience related to a family crisis was moderately acceptable; but communicating with the dead was tabu. Since spirit communication for me began at such a young age that I cannot even remember; but am told about it, and persisted, I was truly a tortured soul. If ghosts do not exist, spirits do not communicate, and angels do not appear; then I must be crazy. That’s a heavy burden for a child trying to find her place in the world. I’ve experienced both benevolent and malevolent phenomena; but even the most benign experiences scared me half to death simply because this experience was tabu. Over the last forty-some-odd years, I’ve come to understand a great deal about paranormal phenomena, and find my peace with these experiences. Just understanding more also helps me to sort out what is truly paranormal from what is not.
It’s for this reason that I have just published my first book to help others, which is a FREE download, “Am I Crazy or Just Haunted: A Guide for Living with Paranormal Phenomena.”

My advice to eliminate fear is step aside, evaluate experiences objectively, learn more real facts, and don’t let your imagination (or your friends) get the best of you.

I was invited to “not be afraid of ghosts.” I once nearly played around with EVPs, but I was too afraid. For all you Art Bell afficianados, the “I’m completely dead” EVP wigged me out. I suppose I may not be afraid of a ghost if I were to see one, but I tend to be very nervous when poking about the edges of such things. It’s kind of like God and the Devil. I’m not particularly afraid of either when I live my life, but I don’t try to summon them either.

by the possibilities. I believe there is a lot of bunk out there and a lot of things can be explained scientifically. But I am a believer in otherworldly phenomenon, as I have had a couple of unique experiences. I have never encountered any “ghosts” per se, but I believe anything is possible!

Hay, I used to be afraid of ghosts, but recently I’ve overcome my fear. Why should I be afraid of them? They can’t do owt to you. I’m afraid of people… not ghosts. People have guns and stuff. O_O

Many events thought to be paranormal can simply be resolved with basic investigative techniques and deductive reasoning. Taking the time to step back and look objectively at the situation is very calming, even if the event does prove to be paranormal in nature. It helps me to keep a slightly skeptical perspective while analyzing experiences (preferably using scientific method); but keeping spiritual understanding in mind. My old childhood teachings were sometimes in conflict with my personal experiences and analyses; so I had to re-evaluate my beliefs. Working through intense fear of unpleasant paranormal experiences and trying to understand positive ones has been a blessing to me in the end. It has strenghtened my faith and enlightened my understanding of spiritual things. I pray that you will find inner peace as you journey through your own experiences.
