KatsLovinLife is hopeful for a great 2009!
I am going to visit my friend in CT for 3 days and there is a ski resort an hour from her place. I am soooo excited. Now, if only my ankle would stop hurting.

awesome day to go. Sun was shining, no wind, and just cold enough to scare off a few people to make the slopes open.
I spent the whole day just putzing around with freinds on the hill and honestly never really tried to improve my skiing . . . which turned out to be a pretty good time. My legs don’t ache like crazy, but I did wipe out a couple times.
It’s amazing how I used to have a thing about seeing how long I could go without crashing, but truth be told, I think I have a better time laying out once in a while. Because then you remember what if feels like and that it’s not really something to worry about, and this makes you go down things you wouldn’t think capable of.

I’ve been dying to realise this goal and so I’ve now made plans to go to New Zealand next season to go skiing. I’ll also get to go on a plane again and have my first trip overseas.

yah, so apparently, for reasons that are still somehat unknown, Wilmot decided to open on time. Thiry-one students from Loyola went and overall, even after having to initially cancel it, and then find out 8 hours later that the resort had changed their mind back to the original date, I’d say it was a pretty successful program.
While there were only two runs officially open, out of the usual 26, we skiied a few of the closed runs, and it was still a good time had by most, and it was a good way to kick of the 06-07 ski season.

It just snowed a foot tonight. And the trip’s still cancelled because Wilmot decided to push back their opening one lousy day. On the upside, I was able to convince a buddy of mine to run up to Granite Peak for a day on Sunday, so I guess you lose some, win some.

looks like the trip I had going this weekend got canceled due to weather. shizzle.

The more I think about it, the more I think I might get a season pass to Granite Peak. It costs $434, but I plan on doing uber-amounts of skiing this season. Especially over break. The only problem I forsee would be convincing at least one buddy of mine to get one so that way I’d have someone to go with.
But such is life.

I’ve got day trips definately lined up for December 2nd & Feb 3rd, and a tentative 4-day the first week of January.
Is it snowing yet?
I always go to Italian mountains… places like Ponte di Legno or .. Chamois or San Martino di Castrozza .. but in summer here there is no snow… so I would like so much to go to some place where there is always snow :)
