Doing good...
I’ve been doing a pretty good job on this on – I ate out for the first time in about a week and a half today, because I took our cans to the bottle depot and traded them in. Got $11.60 for all of it. Was pretty good – we had TONS of the 2 + litre bottles. Kinda goes in with the whole being green goal too.
I feel nasty today from eating the crap I had for lunch. Mozza burger from A & W. I don’t know what possessed me – I have eaten beef in probably five years or more – I was in highschool the last time I had any – and now I feel bloated and heavy and disgusting. I have realized that just because I’ve fallen off the vegetarian wagon doesn’t mean I have to eat the shit that I never would have eaten even before I chose that lifestyle.

So if I can do this, I’ll get closer to 2 other goals as well!
I bought a dayplanner at Target and just discovered it had all these cool but strange organizational pages—including shopping list/meal planning pages. Kind of genius.
I am going to start looking at my frig, figuring out what I need to use up, what I need to get, and what meals I should make.
One thing that I hadn’t realized:
there’s a real psychological element to my buying food at work. I plan my day around these little breaks. Ex: I’ll finish this task, then I’ll wander over to the Starbucks for a break/my elevenses. Dealing with that is actually the key to this preparing food, bringing it to work, and NOT SPENDING $$ ON FOOD AT WORK, I think.

Doing better
My husband and I really enjoy eating out, so we’ve decided to allow ourselves to eat out once a week. Otherwise, I am cooking all of our meals at home. I made a meal plan last week and thus far have stuck to it, and I’ve already made next week’s meal plan and shopping list. It’s easier to cook every day when I know what to make and already have all of the ingredients (and in some cases, have done some prep work the day before)!

My boyfriend and I eat out way too often. It is not very healthy and is expensive also. I want to cook at home more and eat out less often. We made burritos this weekend, they were scrumptious and we have leftovers for the next few days.

We do this now on a regular basis – I think we only eat out once in about every 2-3 weeks regularly. Sometimes we splurge and eat out more, but I cook 97% of the time! Much better for us, and so much easier to control what you aren’t eating!

We are definitely cooking more and eating out ALOT less. That’s what happens when you move and end up having less money for frivolities! But it’s so much better for us I really don’t mind :o)

I have gotten much better at this – we have cut down from eating out several times a week (3 to 4!!!) down to once or twice. I have actually enjoyed cooking more than I had in a while, which is nice.

November/December I did not cook hardly at all – maybe, MAYBE once a week, if that. I am trying to get back on track, and get us healthier while I’m at it. I started cooking every day (okay ALMOST every day – weekends don’t count darnnit!!) two weeks ago. Already I can tell a difference, and we are eating sooo much healthier!
