Next Spring I will start pastry/bakery certification of complication at my local community college. I would have started this fall; however, all of my needed classes are filled. I am sooo excited! This has been my dream since age 0!

lately ive really started liking cooking
i mean i always thought it was ok, not that great but i really enjoy it now, it would be a cool career but id have to move to a bigger city to do it, cuz i dont live in a city where culinary school would be useful because its too small-no gourmet restaurants

this seems cool
but it would be more for selfish reasons than anything else though

Lissi is not looking forward to today
I enrolled in the culinary arts program at AVMC (soon changing to UAV) in December of 08. I’m currently one module down and am finishing my second. I am taking the certificate program and will be done in July of 09. I’m enjoying it immensely. This is my dream and I am so happy to be living it.

This is goofy.
I’m headed in the opposite direction. I went to community college, changed my major from business to biology to (informally) education to english. I’m at a university now. And I’m cramming to finish my bachelors on time.
But I realized a while ago, I really should have gone to culinary school
Particularly for baking and pastry.
This goal is kind of vague right now. I’m undecided on when, where and what – well, sort of.
It would have to be after I graduate UIC. I would go to either a city college or one back home. And right now I’m open to anything from just a few classes, or certificate or up to an associates.
I put in a request for more information from Kendall College. Just looking at their courses gets me all excited.

It’s been almost 3 months since I’ve graduated baking/pastry school. It seems like it was years ago since I was in school. I have to say that it was one of the best thing I’ve experienced in my life. I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t do it in a heart beat again.
Since I’ve graduated I found a great job. Honestly thought it doesn’t feel like a “job” but something I enjoy doing. Time goes by so fast because there’s so much to do. Even though I work crap hours right now I know I have to put in my dues to the industry.
For anyone considering going to culinary school I would highly recommend it! You’ll have a blast.

I am a bit nervous—since I was little my dream was to open a bakery. However, I know very little about pastries and food.

At my appointment at Le Cordon Bleu today, aside from the standard tour and interview, I applied, got accepted, and am scheduled to start on July 7th… Less than 3 months from now! I’m really excited. Really excited.
