I ran the New York City in 1989 when I was 29. In just a few years I will be 50. I think its time I do another one before I get too old.
How to run my second Marathon
How I did it: I signed up for a marathon 3 months beforehand. I was behind on the training schedule but I did my best and was able to make it. In the process I lost a bunch of weight and was able to fit into some clothes I havent worn in a while. My performance in the marathon wasnt all that notweorthy but I have been reenergized in my fitness goals. Without setting this as a firm goal (ie. signing up for the race) I never would have trained. So im now coming up with some future running goals/races for the next six months to keep up the running and working out.
Lessons & tips: Set the goal. Format a plan. Tell peopel what you are doing so that they ask you about it which keeps you focused.
