How to journal regularly"Dear Diary..."
How I did it: Thanks to a comment here on 43T, I decided to try writing in my journal daily, whether I felt like I had anything to say or not. (I'm working to rebuild my daily routine anyway, so adding a few minutes in the morning to write in my journal only seemed logical.) It might not work for everyone, but, once I got into the habit, it was easy to stick with it.

How I did it: There's no other way to do it - just remind yourself to keep picking up that piece of paper and pen, and just WRITE! There are some days when you have a lot to say, and some days where nothing happens at all....I have to say that after regularly journaling for a 2 years, it lost it touch though. Read how I did it…

How I did it: It was something I did in fits and starts, but when I moved house and re-read some of my old books I realised how valuable it is to me as a resource. I hope to write a book one day, and it's surprising how many little incidents or thoughts from everyday life can be interesting to work with - things you would probably forget about all together if you didn't jot them down. It's also great to catch up with a younger you, you may find that you… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Basically, I just got a Jack Sparrow notebook on a whim (this was back when PotC was fairly new and I had the entire first movie memorized) and I gradually just started writing random thoughts down until eventually I was writing everything down. Read how I did it…

But I am blogging. It isn’t the same, that is for sure, because my blog is about weight loss and related issues, but at the same time, I am having fun writing about some things that bother me. Nothing is more fun than writing about things that bother you. It is like the best part of journalling! Shortly I will start my own blog blog and journal away.
viima is delighthed right now =) =) =) =) =)
I’ll start tomorrow. Half a year was the longest period I written a journal regularly, so my goal will be to write regularly for at least a year. Wish me luck. :)
dianechristy doesn't have to work tomorrow morning.
I keep my journal next to my bed. What to write? When is it important enough? How much to write? then I put the book down and I go months without writing a word.

I have been feeling disconnected from myself lately. I have been busier than usual and I am doing, doing, doing just as 43things would suggest. However, I am focusing on the external… and I am out of touch with what’s going on inside! I would like to reconnect and journaling is a great way to do that!
I love words! They can do so much- make you laugh, cry, bring back a fond memory, record an event that is meaningful in your life, take the sting of anger out of your voice before you have a difficult conversation with someone you love. I want to learn more words, learn to express myself better, record the dreams I still want to accomplish and remember the joys and sorrows that have shaped me. I think journaling can help me do this.
And that is regularly enough for me. Daily entries are great, but as long as I feel like I’m keeping it up, I’ll consider this goal complete. Will revisit again if I start to slack off.
magicsexpertrock The weekend!
I want to really really write in an journal daily!!!!
staringdownthesun is trying the whole optimism thing
but going back and looking at your old handwriting and doodles and the emphasis put on various words and everything is so much more enjoyable than re-reading pages of text on the computer. I bought a cute little green notebook not too long ago and i journaled for about a week, however i want to make this a habit. I think I can do it. I have all sorts of ideas for simple things to write about because of all the goals I have read about on here. Such as writing about compliments given and received, things you are grateful for, or even summing up the day in one sentence. So, I think if i can’t write every detail of my day i want to at least write something about it to reflect on later. I am starting a new diet/exercise regime today, why not add a few more goals to the list of things to get started on today?
