"My boyfriend and I decided to go for it and it was so much fun!"

How I did it: I've wanted to go to Hippie Hollow for a while now.  I just got back from a 10 week field research internship, and my boyfriend and I decided to take a week vacation together in Austin, just chilling at my apartment and taking in some local fun.  For the last day of our vacation, I convinced him to go to Hippie Hollow with me.  He wasn't too happy about other people seeing me naked, but he was a good sport and ended up having a great time.  It was a 105 degree day, and the water felt wonderful!

Lessons & tips: Wear some good sandals (like tevas) or watersocks--it's very rocky and there's broken glass scattered around.  Definitely wear some sunscreen, too!

Also, be careful of the pervert fish!  My boyfriend got nipped several times.  Don't know why they found him so delicious.  Really though, the fish are cute and we spent some time trying to catch them.

    I don’t see how I can live in Austin for four years (during college, no less), and not skinny dip in hippie hollow! It’ll happen. I just need to find someone (or some people) who are adventurous to come with.

    I have a friend who went with her fiance, and they had an okay experience, except when some guy pinched her in the woods! So yeah, naked hiking is not safe. makes a mental note
