Not cool. Overdoing things.

Not like I thought it would be, but interesting. 21 months ago

I used to think fainting would feel good, like going into a pleasurable swoon, like when you’re at the golden stage of drunkeness, or you’re comfortably sleepy. It feels nothing like that. It’s scary. It happens faster than you think it will. I get pins and needles tingly, my peripheral gets dark and I feel like I’m falling backward, even if I’m laying down. I’ve only passed out when giving blood. It doesn’t happen until the end, when I’m done and I try to get up and leave. I have to be really careful. I bashed my head on a sidewalk once fainting when I got out of a bloodmobile.

i fainted for the first time in my life last night. very scary. i had just come out of a hot bath, feeling very depressed over stupid things. my mom calls me to dinner, so i go and sit at the dining table. out of nowhere, i start to feel really nauseous and very weak. i run to my room and lay on the floor. i start crying because i am so weak that i can’t even pull my own weight. my mom comes running in and she wraps me around a blanket to make me sweat. my peripheral vision starts to die out and my mother’s voice becomes very faint. she opens the window above me and i take deep breaths. she asks me if i am okay, but i can’t even speak. after a few minutes of forcing myself to drink orange juice, i am conscious.

it felt like an out of body experience for me. i think i fainte because i didn’t eat anything for two days and i was also stressed with negative thoughts. i’ve learned my lesson. never again.

Way to faint 2 years ago

Here’s how to do it (no pain at all,):

prequisite: sit down against the wall and calm your heart rate. This won’t work if you are excited…
Dont forget to find a safe place to land (place some BIG pillows around you, or have a bed to fall on) because you WILL fall like stones when you faint, so can also get someone to catch you. That person need not be very strong as your knees would not buckle.

1.Squat down, preferably against the wall (the same wall) so that when you fall you don’t fall backwards!

2.Take in DEEP breaths quickly, until you fell a tingling sensation in your middle body around your diaphram or stomach. Usually happens within 20-40 breaths.

3.Take in one last breath and hold it, and stand up as quickly as possible.

4.Keep holding your breath until your vision clears. (Most likely it will not. You would have fainted by then.)

Note: If you do not faint on the first try, wait 5 minutes before trying again, and increase the number of breaths for the next attempt. You most likely realise that you have fainted only AFTER you wake up… Great feeling, really!

Fainting 2 years ago

This really no fun…you get tunnel vision and then just before you come to you hear people yelling your name but they sound so far away…it is scary.

Are you kidding? Why would someone want to do this? You can practically kill yourself if you are not careful. I got up and got a glass of water after getting out of a hot bath and drinking a VERY small amount of alcohol. The next thing I knew, I was lying on the floor with broken glass everywhere and my mom was freaking out. I still feel completely lost and it just feels horrible.

NOT FUN!!! 2 years ago

Fainting is not fun. It has happened way too much to me. You feel sick but there is nothing you can do about it. I have felt like I am about to through up but can’t. You just can’t do anything, you’re helpless. I hate that feeling! I don’t know if forcing yourself to pass out feels any different, but out of the 5 times that I have passed out (none of which were intentional) I did not feel good. Definately drink lots of water and always eat a good meal if you know you are going to be standing for a long time in hot weather! (And don’t go to a dancing class after you have been sick with the flu for a couple of weeks. Twirling around really gets ya!)

or is what happened technically called "passing out?" 2 years ago

well, whatever you call it, my advice is this: drink more water. I was dehydrated both times I fainted and it’s not good for you.

But I’m going to try and stop myself from fainting tomorrow when I have my blood test. MUST eat breakfast and ask to lay down.

Went to the podiatrist today (for my plantar’s wart). The podiatrist stuck my foot with a needle to numb it and then left me. I got really hot and really dizzy and was trying to fan myself but then I started to black out and it felt like I was having a panic attack. My foot was bleeding from the shot but I didn’t care if I got it all over the floor… I got up to tell somebody about it and walked into the hallway. The doctor came out of the room across the hall and looked at me with horror. He had to catch me as I collapsed. I woke up with him and 2 nurses standing over me handing me an oxygen mask and exclaiming how “no one had ever gotten up before.” They asked me why I had gotten up and I told them it was to tell them I was hot and dizzy and they said that usually people would get dizzy but they would always stay seated and that I must have a will of steel or something like that. Then they put me in a wheelchair and wheeled me around the office. Then I ate peanut butter crackers, drank ginger ale, and talked about photography while the doctor chopped the wart out of my foot. yay!
