If one watches the BBC productions of Shakespeare with the captioning on, one is actually reading Shakespeare since those TV adaptations faithfully follow Shakespeare to the letter. I started this at the beginning of the year. So far I’ve read 17 of them. I’m currently working on Measure for Measure and King Henry VI Part 2. I have enjoyed all of them. I’ve found that the more I read them the less of a problem I have with the language. It’s also interesting finding out where many common expressions that are currently in use come from! :) 22 months ago
