So I finished it, and Now I’m down to 42., hmmm



Look what I found 3 years ago

I wrote this over a year ago, long before I knew anything about 43things. The plan was to look at this list everyday and remind myself of the kind of person I wanted to be…but I forgot about it, until today when I found it while looking through the files on my computer.

Watch out world.
· I’m going to lose weight, and get toned and in great shape.
· I’m going to be daring with fashion and dress the way I feel.
· I’m going to set trends.
· I’m going to read at least one novel every two weeks.
· I’m going to keep myself up to date with the news.
· I’m going to get my homework and school stuff done and out of the way so I can be more social.
· I’m going to drink 8 cups of water a day and always take a vitamin.
· I going to stand up tall.
· I’m going to be charming and kind to people, even those I do not like very much, as long as it is because of nothing mean spirited they have done.
· I’m going to just do things, and stop worrying about what could happen.
· I’m going to live my life to the fullest, because I only live once.
· I’m not going to cry, or let bad moods come over me for too long.
· I’m going to keep my nails, eyebrows, etc., neat and in good condition.
· I’m going to be outrageously confident.
· I’m going to stay away from junky foods.
· I’m going to stay away from junky people.
· I am going to eat more fruits and veggies.
· I’m going to be positive and energetic.
· I’m going to enhance my vocabulary.
· I’m going to display an amazing inner strength.
· I’m going to enjoy myself and not take anything too seriously. (Except very serious things…like death.)
· I’m going to be honest with people.
· I’m going to not talk bad about people behind their backs to a group of people or someone who isn’t my very best friend.
· I’m going to become more environmentally aware.
· I’m going to become a better tennis player.
· I’m not going to compare myself to others.
· I’m going to accept my faults, love them, and work with what I have been given.
· I’m going to be outgoing and a great conversationalist.
· I’m going to stop wasting time in front of the TV watching things that are not bettering me or that I don’t even enjoy.
· I’m going to stop popping pimples when not needed.
· GO BIG OR GO HOME.
· I’m going to do my own thing and never be ashamed.
· I’m going to make big choices and take big steps in my life.
· I’m not going to give a shit when people don’t like me…their loss.
· I’m going to love life, especially mine.

It’s amazing how many of those things are on my list now. I think it’s about time that I get these things done, and finally become the person I wanted to be a year ago.

Yay …me! Was beginning to wonder if just writing the list was going to take forever….but finally finished. So, time to get started. Wish me luck!!



So much for this being my New Years Resolution list... 3 years ago

Never did I imagine that it would be so difficult to list 43 things I want to do in life. I really wanted to have the list done by 2006…start working on it right away…but somehow, here it is, a new year and well, I’m almost there. So, I guess now finishing the list will be my first accomplishment. LOL



Right now... 3 years ago

Most of my goals are on hold for the time being. I got my wisdom teeth removed, so my day now consists of waking up, eating some yogurt, taking pain killers, and getting knocked out again. What a great way to start a new year, huh? I plan on picking up the pace on these goals once I get better, 2006 is going to be the start of a much better me.

I really need to finish so I can consentrate on reaching these goals instead of making them. But hey, I guess I gotta start somewhere.



My 43 things 4 years ago

It wasn’t as easy to identify 43 things as I thought it would be. I found myself deferring finishing the list for about a month, adding when I had time and/or inspiration. I’m a bit sheepish about a couple of goals – for example, I boldly declare that I want to hike the Grand Canyon, but I’ve lived in America all my life and have made absolutely no effort to actually do it. But I can honestly say that every single thing on this list is something I really want to do, something that’s been nagging at me. OK, sometimes the nag is more of a shrill scream (as is the case of not throwing my clothes on the floor).

I’ve made similar lists to this before, and I’ve found them extremely helpful for keeping LIFE in mind. I’ve always had goals, but the black-and-white of writing them out has helped me focus time time and energy. I mean…doing 43 things will take time, and I only have a finite amount of it. Do I spend it working towards doing the 43 things I most value/admire/desire? Or, will I spend it trying to live someone else’s idea of a great life?
