Accepting fibromyalgia is similar to coping with the death of a loved one. It starts with denial. As happy as we were to get a diagnosis at last, we start thinking that maybe it´s wrong. This can´t be the way it´s going to be from now on! We all go through it – although not everyone’s experience is identical. But we need to move forward, accept what is there and then take positive actions to make it better.

I have had fibro for almost 6 years—i was diagnosed Sept 10th, 2001. That was a horrible week. First the diagnosis, and then the attack on the World Trade Center.
Like all FMS’ers, I have my good days and my bad days. Winter is usually the worst time for me, although the humidity of the summer months doesn’t do much for me either.
Currently I’m on prescription strength Naproxen because of knee pain, but that’s about it. It does help with the FMS pain somewhat, so that’s good.

I suppose I’ve had fibromyalgia for a while.
I’m moody and irritable because I’m in pain (most of the time) & I wake up stiff in the morning…
I can’t sleep at night and consequently have trouble focusing (cause I’m tired) and have some memory problems like forgetfulness.
Because of it I am also depressed to some degree because I can’t understand why doctors can’t make it go away. Some days I feel worse than my grandma and she’s already been dead & buried!
It’s a good think I like walking my dog…
