Becoming an interfaith minister in the UK 8 months ago

Hi, I’m just considering becoming an interfaith minister and may well join the Interfaith Seminary in the UK, they’re part of the Interfaith Foundation and my first impressions are very positive. Love and Blessings!

I am desirous of becoming an interfaith minister primarily to help people from all walks of life who need or can benifit from pastoral counseling.

Guess this one goes on hold... 2 years ago

The program has been postponed again. They’re hoping to find enough enrollment to proceed in the Fall. However, we’re now also focused on purchasing a home, so only time will tell if I’ll be able to pursue the program at a later date. I know it will all unfold in it’s own perfection, and that if this is the path for me that somehow it will all work out accordingly.

Opinions on online schools for ordination. 3 years ago

I’ve been looking into the New Seminary and the One Spirit Learning Alliance. I would like some feedback from anyone who has done these or knows more about it. Also, are there any other options that are similar? Thanks!

Delays & Disappointment 3 years ago

So I got a call last night telling me they’re postponing the ordination program until January. Apparently there are a couple interested people but they’re not available until January. I’m trying to go with the flow, but it bothers me that after all the time I’ve been waiting to start this program…and all the rescheduling I had to do in order to be available for all the classes, they make such a drastic decision based on a couple people. I know because it’s such a small program, they really need a certain number of enrollees in order to make it worth while. However, I would have rather they told us that we’d start in October ‘unless we have too few students enrolled’ or something to that effect. And, now they have to ‘condense’ the program in order to finish in 2 years rather than 27 months.

Ultimately, I think things happen for a reason, but can’t help but feel disappointed. This is all I’ve been focused on since June. However, perhaps it will be easier to adjust to the classes with the Holidays out of the way. I’m sure it will all work out for the best in the long term. Just feeling a bit blue about it today.

I've been... 3 years ago

accepted into the ordination program. Classes start October 22nd. I’ve already purchased my required books through Amazon’s used books:) Now all I have to do is wait. It’s exciting and a bit unsettling at the same time, but trying to gear up to face the challenges that await me on this path.

2 years at the New Seminary 3 years ago

After two years of training, I was ordained in June 2005 in New York City.
I now work part-time in Interfaith Education with an NGO of the United Nations, and hope to expand my work in the next few years to spiritual growth and sacred circles.

It's in the mail;) 3 years ago

So, now just have to wait to see. It feels good to have done my part. If I’m accepted into the program, I’ll start classes in October.

Well, I've finished my application 3 years ago

for the ordination program at the School of Sacred Ministries. What an odd and interesting turn of events. Now, I just have to print it, send it off and wait for them to schedule an “interview”. I’ll be very interested to see where this path is leading me.
