let my creativity run wild

I’ve started another sewing project today. I would have finished it but I need a shorter zipper for the pants. I love the fabric, too. It’s brown and very soft. It feels rather like suede, but it is not.

Hooray for making your own clothes! (They actually fit well this way… I have a 36” inseam which is pretty hard to find in the ladies department.)

There are times when I just have to create something. Last night, instead of doing work like I was supposed to do, I spent a few hours making a… thing… a creative thing. I can rationalize this “wasted time” because I’m working on something that I’m passionate about. Why can’t I do that with the classes I’m teaching? I suppose it might be because I’m just a first year teacher and I still don’t know what I’m doing yet. (Or perhaps I’m just lazy.) Or… is this really what I want to do for the rest of my life? I think all first year teachers ask themselves that.
