Helped with two fundraisers recently (one new and the other established over 10 yrs) which netted more than $30,000 for Huntington disease research and services.

it was sad to see how much he’s aged recently. My mom has been going to see him every day and feeds him his dinner.

I’m fortunate that my mom has not really showed signs, so I should be in the clear, but it is sad to see relatives go through this terrible disease.

How did the scientists know that it was a good idea to try that?
Huge!

Now looking for the right kinase inhibitors! From the article: “Kinase inhibitors form the largest number of successful new generation drugs that are coming to market for a plethora of diseases…”
Way to go McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Keep in mind that this same lab recently announced that it had found molecular ‘postal codes’ or ‘zip codes’ for a small protein in huntingtin. Also amazing stuff.

I wrote a media release for a story, it took me weeks and weeks.
A friend edited and added material so it was pages long, then a family member cautioned that it needed to be one page maximum so cutting it back to a page was a wee bit challenging!
It appears to have been accepted for distribution and publication so we will see how this goes…

through Cabbagetown, a downtown Toronto neighbourhood with over 150 years of history. Fascinating history and architectural walk-and-talk; the weather was sunny, what a day.
The event, named “The Architectural Gems of Toronto Walk” has been held for close to 10 years, and benefits the Huntington Society of Canada. Kudos to the organizers and to the Toronto chapter of the HSC for such a great event, and the after-event was great, too.
