Get a job for the summer

No can do.
The job situation here is getting pretty desperate and my plans also couldn’t co-exist with a job anymore, there’s too little time left now.
But I was fortunate enough to get the first part of the student grant for the summer this morning, at last. I was very relieved by that. Getting the second part next week. I should be ok, just gotta be careful with my money.

It rocked! I love the guys working there, talking to the customers, having something to do; love love love!

Well, I got a job. I start training on Thursday for Jiffy Lube.
It’s only on weekends, but there you have it. A job. Yay!

I just sent out three job applications, I’ll fill out more later on. The first two were cleaning jobs and the third was about selling eyeglasses. We’ll see what happens with those.
I’ve been really puzzled about what to do this summer. I actually had a summerjob waiting for me abroad, but I decided that it was best to stay in Finland, for multiple reasons. And it was a wise choice. I’ve been stalling with my job search here in Finland, though. I haven’t been sure about what to do. This summer is turning out to become a hectic one, but a job on the side really wouldn’t hurt, I think.

But I applied for a student grant for June and July last night, so if that works out (it should), I don’t think I’ll have too big money problems this summer and I probably could manage without a job. But like I said, it wouldn’t hurt. The experience alone would be good for me.
But if nothing turns up, it won’t be the end of the world.

Well…it’s June now, and I still don’t have a job. It doesn’t help that I’m living in a place where I don’t know where anything is because I just moved there three and a half weeks ago. (I know, I know, I should be able to get around by now, but I don’t leave the house much during the week. The roads are much more congested than what I’m used to and the drivers are all crazy. Monkeys, all of them. And I’m afraid of getting lost. Pitiful.)
So yeah. No progress. I’m going to apply to Jiffy Lube and I’m going to contact this volunteer place for teaching adults to read. That one won’t pay, but it will get me out of the house and with people.
Le sigh.

i got a job teaching windsurfing and surfing to disadvantaged students during the summer!

went for an interview today, and have a job starting tuesday =]
its not great money, its not a great job…just working in a hotel, but its regular hours (full time) and it’ll give me soemthing to do over the summer.

im eyeing up my new wardrobe already lol

I want to make money for the summer,
so I need a job.

Well, it’s not the dream job, but it gets me $8/hour, and considering it’s seasonal employment, I’m satisfied! I work at the local co-op.
