How to march in a protest
How I did it: The largest one I was a part of was the March for Women's Lives in DC- for this, friends and I of our Women's Studies program heard about it, raised up the money for the plane ticket and found friends of friends of friends who were supporters of the march who lived in the area that put us up for two nights.
Lessons & tips: Understand what the march's environment will be in. I didn't realize that one march I was a part of was going to be in fact an impromtu anti-war march set inside of a Camp Penelton welcome-back-troops parade. This would have been good for me to know when I signed up- for we were bullied and pushed and that wasn't what I was ready for.
