no cheating, I’ve already done tents, now if only I knew I could get to
sleep with raccoons walking everywhere….

We really wanted to take part in the Running of the Bulls in 2006, but we discovered that hotels and hostels up their rates to extremely high prices, for example a youth hostel is normally 20-50 euro per person there and during the festival 150 euros per person per night. Not really in our price range. But we found a nice park out of the main area of the festival and the 3 of us bunkered down there for the night, using bags as pillows and jackets as blankets. It turned out alright so we returned the next 2 nights. I wouldn’t recommend this in most places or even in Pamplona at anytime other than the festival, but it was a blast.
Due to the excessive amount of wildlife (noisy koalas and curious possums especially), I decided this would be a bad idea. Still gonna do it someday though!!
many years ago. I didn’t have a blanket or a pillow, so I’m lucky I didn’t get bitten by a scorpion like my cousin did.
I’ve slept outside since then, too. Usually it’s because I fall asleep in my hammocks or on the trampoline watching the Northern Lights or something.
We’re camping with the scouts this weekend, and hopefully they will want to camp outside too. Its scheduled for beautiful weather, and Saturday night seems perfect.
mignon everything will be alright
this year I just could not get to do it- july would have been just right but forgot about it then- and when I had a date with someone joining me, heaven opened and rain was falling down like crazy.
next year, another try.
If I had to live my life over
Nadine Stair, 85 years old, Louisville Kentucky
If I had my life to live over:
I’d dare to make more mistakes next time.
I’d relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier
Than I have been this trip. I would take more chances.
I would take more trips. I would climb more
Mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat
More ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps
Have more actual troubles, but I’d have fewer
Imaginary ones.
You see, I’m one of those people who live
Sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after
Day. Oh, I’ve had my moments and if I had it
To do over again, I’d have more of them. In
Fact I’d try to have nothing else. Just moments,
One after another, instead of living so many years
Ahead of each day. I’ve been one of those persons
Who never goes anywhere without a
Thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat,
And a parachute. If I had to do it again, I would
Travel lighter than I have.
I have yet to sleep outside but when a 85 year old woman gives wisdom like that… how can you procrastinate? Coming soon.
