I read about 46 books last year which was just short of the goal – so I’m continuing the work on the same goal this year.

I want to read 50 books in year 2013! 5 months ago

Dofleinita2012Ordeal by Innocence - Agatha Christie

Ooooh, a good one (though not a lot of events. Very talky.) However, the Grande Dame of mystery successfully pulled the wool over my eyes! How pleasing. 6 months ago

Dofleinita2012A Clash of Kings - George R.R. Martin

Book 2 – still very exciting, interesting character depth, yet at the end I feel like it’s right in the middle. sigh Time for book 3! 6 months ago

Dofleinita2012Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

Wow. I was not expecting this to be some of the best social commentary/speculative fiction. I suppose I was expecting straight fiction rather than sci-fi but what I got I LOVED. Innovative structure, wildly interesting characters and styles. Brilliant book. 7 months ago

aphelThe Plan

I realized a few days ago that the direction I’m steering my life is not one that’s working, and so I am going to focus on reading books relating to spirituality and self-improvement. I’m sure (or well, I hope!) that some fiction will find its way into this list as well. I’m sure some books for research will too. But it finally hit me, like a rock to the head, that I need to up my spiritual game. I think for the moment, books are the best way I’ve got to do that. 8 months ago

Dofleinita2012The Judas Judge - Michael McGarrity

I must have read more than this – has it been so long since I actually finished a book? Surely not!

This was a fun, gripping, very New Mexican mystery. The best of McGarrity’s I’ve read for some time, and it took 1.5 days flat. Fast, captivating, recommended. 8 months ago

killerbananasRe-start!

Since I took a break from 43 things I let this goal slide.

I’ve decided to “re-start”, and I’ve counted from when I purchased my e-reader a few months ago…

I’ll update later with a list :) 9 months ago
