Well I have wanted one forever as I dont have access to a darkroom anymore to use my SLR, and since I have decided to go back to school for photography I can now justify spending that amount on one, plus the prices have dropped nearly in half from what they where. See, procrastination can pay off!

How I did it: My boyfriend once asked me what I would do if I won the lottery. I said, "Well, I would finally buy a digital SLR." It had been one of those things high on my list of things to buy, but when I saved, other expenses always came up. A few months later, on my birthday, I found a bunch of gifts wrapped up laying on my bed when I got home from work. He said, "Open this one first." ...so i guess i may be closer to this goal than i realized, now if i only had the money. :(
Bananalee is.
I bought it on eBay this week but when they called to confirm I expressed concerns over the lack of shipping insurance and they offered me a different package that I’m considering.
So…close.
I used to be big into photography. I had some cool gear too. A Nikon slr, old school canon and yashika slr’s, cokin filters, lenses, the works. 8 or so years ago I bought a cheapo digital point and shoot. I kept using it and my ‘real’ photography equip gathered dust. I’d like to buy a new digital slr and get back into it.
I just bought the SLR i have been saving for. I went for the nikon d80…its great for beginner’s. Even went to staten island to try it out..
I’m postponing the save-up-money-to-buy-a-dSLR until I actually get a job, hopefully halfway through the summer … then I can put aside a certain amount of each paycheck, still have some spending money for important stuff, etc, etc. Trying to spend absolutely no money whatsoever (which isn’t much) didn’t work out so well … but if I get a job it can go straight to the bank and never pass through my hands ….
Hmm, bout time I splashed out, I’ve been studying photography for a few years and I focused more on traditonal photography (I was lucky enough t have a friend give me their Nikon SLR) but after many moons of great pictures with my little digital camara its finally said goodnight and I’ve been relying on my phone t take pictures which although good, its nowhere near the same standard. I’m saving up at the momment, though after seeing the prices of some camaras it could take a few months.
