How to make jewelry by MagentaPearl5

"I just wanted to make jewelry for myself so i could save money."

How I did it: I had ideas of my own, but i went to half price books and find a book with tons of new ideas i wanted to try. I bought all my supplies at an art store along with beads of broken jewelry i had around. I started with just basic necklaces but then improved to bracelets and wire wrapping. I haven't mastered the perfect earrings yet (they still fall apart) but the stuff i do make i wear, give as gifts, or even sell a few. If you look at some jewelry in the store and you have the same stuff laying around the house to make it, then why not save money by creating exactly or even improving that jewelry you wanted to buy. Its fun too!

How I did it: I learned beading from my sister and a friend.  It was somewhat tedious and made my back hurt. I made some pieces for myself and for gifts, but you can buy jewelry at Sam Moon's or other places just as cheaply.  So I think I'll give it up as soon as I use up all my materials.     YAY! I just made a beautiful silver angel wing necklace with parts from old necklaces and some earrings i bought on clearance. Iooks similar to one i saw for $45 (i added a cross to the links) it only cost me 99 cents for the earrings!

    I made some pieces like bracelets and neckalaces. It was an easy and fun learnig experience. It’s only worth it if you get gems or pieces that will look great. Otherwise, your pieces will turn out looking chenzy and cheap.

    I took an art class and learned how to, it’s not difficult but it is tricky, you have to be crafty and patient, and also be able to move your fingers in very miniscule ways, as to actually connect it all. but once it’s done you feel accomplished, and when someone ask’s where did you get that, it’s satisfying saying, I made it!!

    I made this beautiful blue stone bead bracelet. What I love is that it was very easy to do, and love the push button clasp to hold it together. I am a beading machine, LOL

    I made something I really like 16 months ago

    I’ve made a necklace that I love. I’m loving making jewelry. The PR part of trying to sell jewelry is not my favorite thing. It’s challenging and hits at my vulnerable spots to try to advertise myself and the things that I make. Anybody else have this experience?
