take great care of my guinea pigs

I love my guinea pigs!

My boyfriend surpised me last week by working on a secret project. Turns out he made a wonderful little run for my g-pigs to play around in. It even has a little covered section at one end so they can get some shade or just snuggle up. I think I was even more chuffed than they were! It’s a bit too cold and wet for them to be using it outside right now, so here’s a pic of them testing it out in the spare room.

My guinea pigs are very happy and well cared for so I thought it was about time I ticked this one off.

so that means it’ll be getting colder soon. I’ve just started knitting a blanket to keep my little piggies warm through the winter.

My boy guinea pig, Garth, has to go to the vets tomorrow morning as he has a swelling in the ‘groinal’ area. It isn’t causing him any pain and he is still active and happy so I hope it is nothing serious.

I’m also going to have to bath my little girl guinea pig, Shinobi. She smells of wee! Only problem is that she’s very wriggly and I don’t want her getting too scared. Will try and get some info on how to bath guinea pigs properly.

They had enormous fun earlier by running away and hiding every time I tried to pick them to try and brush them. Finally got them and now they look all pretty. Unfortunately they don’t seem to like my camera.

My litle g-pigs have almost everything they need at the moment: a clean and comfortable cage, food, water, toys, grooming items… The only thing they require is an outdoor run so they can get exercise in the fresh air. Hoping to buy one as soon as I can find something suitable. Have bought a makeshift run for the meantime, which looks like one of those pop-up mesh laundry baskets. It’s designed for taking puppies outside in but it’ll have to do for now. I hope they don’t try and eat it (their favourite hobby is trying to eat things that they shouldn’t!).

There are lots of cats around where I live, so they live indoors in a comfy cage in my brother’s old bedroom. They are a bit spoilt to be honest but they love it!
