Build out my entire neighborhood on 43 Places

The interface for adding places is borked, and a person can’t edit their own attempts at mashing into the poorly designed db.
I’m off to yelp, where there’s at least some community interaction going on.

Went here last weekend with my buddy Doug. Food is very good made even better because Doug paid. Beer was cold. Very laid back place, great staff without being a pain in the arse.

Killer margaritas and I do mean killer they WILL knock you on your arse.

I’ve got in local churches, the Woodside Plaza shopping center, and banks down this end of Woodside, and most of the restaurants, hardware stores, grocery stores, pet related shops, and drug stores.
Off to duplicate the same in yelp.com for the places I’ve been and include ratings.

I figure there’s Stuff of Interest within a three block radius to call it a neighborhood; I’ve done bits of the little Redwood City downtown already. Once I do the three-block radius, I’ll consider another nearby stretch of road.

Waids Restaurant

I’ve been going here with my Dad once a week for about a month now.

How do I describe Waids? Lets just say I lower the median age by about 25 years as I walk in the door. Its very near a retirement village so they cater to a more mature customer. Notice I didn’t say old?

Food is… Well they have food there. Actually its not bad just rather bland, have the salt shaker handy. (see above)

Also disregard the sign at night. It lights up but the W is burned out so it reads

"aids"

Maybe someone can explain this one to me, Lees Summit is full of places to eat but each week Dad wants to go to Waids? Its not the food trust me. Maybe he just feels comfortable there? Maybe the waitresses are polite and let him chew their ear off? I’ve no idea on this one.

Any help on this one? Anyone… Anyone?

I have for sure added all the popular places that people are likely to go eat. However I may have forgot a few auto dealers and repair shops which I could care less about. Out of all these places I have added, I think that only one other 43’er has added one of these places to their list. I’ll bet this would have been more useful to people if I added more places to a more popular neighborhood, but I’m just stuck up here in Maple Leaf.

I added 60 or so places these last 2 days, but there are still more. Some of the places I didn’t take a picture or enter the address, so more work must be done. Maybe I’m 60% done at this point.

A couple days ago I went on a bike ride and took a bunch of pictures of businesses in the Maple Leaf neighborhood. There are now 59 places, but I know I still need to add some more. I also looked online for the technical boundary of Maple Leaf, and saw that the Northgate Mall is actually considered part of Maple Leaf. However I chose to omit the mall since I think a majority of people consider Northgate Mall in a neighborhood of itself.

I suppose I will use CHECK-INS for this goal!
