I have a friend who is, unfortunately, in jail for several months. He’s an overall good person who had a DUI several years ago and then messed up on finishing his probation so he has to serve out his time in jail. It sucks but at least it will be over with when he gets out.
Anyway I’ve been exchanging letters with him while he’s “inside” and trying to keep in touch and keep his spirits up. He gets out next month, before the holidays, thank goodness.
I’ve also been leaving a few handwritten cards and notes for my sweetie, she deserves all the love!

Daisy was tickled by her handmade note yesterday and her hand decorated lunch bag today. This is so rewarding.

I was so touched by this. Daisy asked me to open her pocket of her backpack and uncrumple a paper that was in there – it was the note I had written her. She says she looks at it every day and it makes her cry a happy cry.
Aww!

Today I wrote “I Love you Daisy, love, Mommy” on a paper and put it in her lunch bag. She didn’t say anything about it but I hope she read it.

I wrote two little notes to Bill in the bag I delivered to the hospital. I know they cheered him up. I also wrote thank you notes to everyone who gave to us a Christmas gift. I just need to mail those out…

for lots of people including family members I don’t get along with that well and sometimes total strangers, but I don’t find the time often enough to make a hand made card with a love note to my girlfriend. I know she saves and treasures the ones I have made, so I know she likes it when I do this. I definitely need to try to do this more often. And send them to her c/o her workplace, because she gets so stressed at work sometimes and I know that would make her smile…

I gave my boyfriend two hand-written notes last Monday, and his reaction was definatly worth it. There’s something special about hand-written notes. xxx
