Preliatornox is begining to think positvely.
While I didn’t time myself, I did look people in the eyes and maintain contact during my trip. It felt great. I was able to connect with the person better and stay engaged.
I met my father two nights ago and we ate at Olive Garden. I looked the waitress in the eye every time she spoke to us.
I’m getting better at this. It takes is a start off point, some bravery, and persistence.

One of the good traits about me was that I always looked people in the eye. All. the. time. I don’t know when the change happened, but I am finding myself avoiding people’s gaze like the plague. I can’t stand that anymore. I have been trying to get back to my old habit, but for now I’m just doing quick glances.
I’m going camping for four days with a big group, and my mini goal for myself is to look ten people in the eyes for at least 30 seconds. I’ll see how this goes…
I was “normal” in high school but when I turned 18 something happened and I lost my ability to look people in the eye. I keep trying to get better at it but I overanalyze my problem and the next thing I know I feel more confused. Guess I need to practice letting go of the anxiety I feel when I have to look at someone. Having to reclaim my power is one of the greatest challenges I will face in this lifetime.
It’s super easy when it’s with people I’ve met more than once. I haven’t met anyone new in the past few days… so I’ll say I’ve been doing well?
but then was faced with some people that I didn’t feel comfortable with and totally FAILED.
I just knew they were judging me… and I was sooooo awkward about it I had so much trouble with eye contact. Working on it!
Just stand there for a minimum of two minutes. Time yourself. Stare into your own eyes. What could anyone hope to find in there? Are you hiding anything? Are you certain that is you?
Look me in the eye and you’re searching for something. My eyes tell the truth. You’ve no right to search.
