Little Angelina has a sister! 2 years ago

I brought a new dog home two weeks ago. Things are looking gloomy. Apparently, you are not supposed to introduce two adult female dog into one household. Whoa. My house has been aggression city, as they are fighting over who is the higher one in the pack. I have also learned that Angelina has been the pack leader for the last two years. We are undergoing reversal of hierarchy training with Angel, and doing anti-aggression training with Matty. A German Shepherd and a Doberman…cute, but a tough life lays ahead for me.

The training place has an agility course. If Angel makes it through basic Obedience and her descent in the pack ranks, we may sign up!

“Must reach the yellow…must reach the yellow…”

    Woof Sports! 2 years ago

Angelina and I went to a Puppy Days festival in a neighboring city. They had a course set for dogs to try. Angelina just zipped right up the ramp, across the bridge, and back down. She zipped right through the fabric tunnels. She jumped right over the hurdles. The guy helping us says, “Most dogs are very nervous on a course. You have to train them carefully to not be afraid…” Angelina was done doing the course before he finished his sentence. HA! I LOVE my dog! She is SO smart!

We have been working on tracking at home. I will hide one of her favorite toys. She will search for it, and she finds it! The best thing to me is how much she enjoys playing with me. She actually smiles, brings me her toys, and asks for more.

    She is my Best Friend!

    Frisbee! 3 years ago

We have been practicing frisbee, and she is becoming quite the little catcher! I am continuously amazed by her energy and her ability to learn so rapidly. She is so willing to please. It is hard for me to imagine that she was only hours from being euthanized, when she was rescued. I do not remember my life before Angelina. She is my best friend.

The little reprobate... 3 years ago

She ate an entire row of antique books from a bookshelf. I must say, I did have a premonition. I moved two shelves of the REALLY expensive books upstairs to the office last week. I forgot about my leather copy of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame…Angelina really liked chewing that. I was so sad to see the strips of antique marbled paper all over the floor…signatures ripped and spread about the living room. I am inspired to create a book in honor of all the things Angelina has chewed since the puppy days. Why books? Why not Daddy’s stinky shoes? Why Kate Spades and my gorgeous cowgirl boots? Come to think of it, she has NEVER eaten Chris’ stuff, just mine…HEY!

    Sigh... 3 years ago

Had to go to the vet yesterday. Little Miss Agility has sprained a “digit” on her paw. Who knew dogs had digits? Anyway, her paw is as big as a baseball bat. She is taking anti-inflammatories. I have to ice her paw daily…I kinda like baby-ing her. She is so sweet!

    WonderMutt! 3 years ago

I love my dog. I think she would be super cute and funny to watch on an agility course. She loves to catch things in her mouth. She loves to run, and she seems pretty fearless. She is a good dog!
