Calissa is home again... for now.

    Done 6 months ago

I had my appointment today, so I can finally mark this as done. It seems like a lovely place… small and quiet. So incredibly different from my last doctor which makes me very happy indeed.

My new doctor is sending me for a blood test to check whether I am suffering from some kind of allergy. It’s a start to the process of getting better.

How interesting to note that five months after my last entry, I’m still facing sore throats almost every day and health that is generally run down. Definitely reason enough to reopen this goal.

My mum recently went to a relatively new practice in her area and thought it was worthwhile. It’s a little way to travel for me… but there are no doctors close by for me, so if I want to see someone I am going to have to travel a bit. I’ve made an appointment for next week.

I’ve decided to give up on this. I’ve been feeling better on the whole, although I still get sore throats more often than I should. Central to my decision to give up, however, is the fact that the clinic I go to is just about to relocate to an entirely different area of town. It’s getting more and more difficult to find decent GPs.

I called the clinic today, hoping to book an appointment with the doctor I saw last time. She’s on leave until the end of the month and so I shall wait until then to see her.

My leg has been a little better, though not ideal. I’ll also use the time to try drinking a ginger infusion that was recommended for my throat. We’ll see how things go.

Despite having just added this to my list, I thought I was going to be able to put it off for a little while. I have a few university deadlines that I’ve been preoccupied with and I thought I could live with my constant, though slight, sinus congestion and the sore throat every morning for a bit longer.

Then yesterday what feels like my Achilles tendon really started acting up, leaving my whole leg aching. It still hasn’t settled down yet.

I admit defeat. I feel like I’m at war with my body. It shames me to admit it, but I just don’t know how to interpret the messages it’s sending me or how to look after it properly.

One of the reasons I’ve been procrastinating on seeing a doctor is because due to the stuffing around by doctors in the area, I don’t have a regular doctor. I guess it’s time to bite the bullet.
