How I did it: By the time my best friend came out of the closet 2 years ago I was completely supportive but did not see myself as part of the community. Over the course of the next year I started to question my sexuality and decided I was probably bisexual. During this time I made more LGBT friends. This last September I went to a Pride Parade near where I live with some friends and even walked in it! It was so exciting! Recently I have started to lean more towards the lesbian side. Thanks to my experience with Pride and to the supportive community I found there I am more confident in myself. Thank you Gay Pride!

Lessons & tips: Don't be afraid to go even if you are questioning. It's a load of fun.

    I was talking to my friend today who invited me to go to a pride parade with him and some of our other friends this summer. I’ve been wanting to go to a Pride parade for a while, so I am quite stoked about completing this goal.

    I was originally planning on going to Pride this week, but lately I’ve been tired and cranky from work that I didn’t think I was in the right state of mind to do it this year.

    I went to San Diego’s Pride Parade today and it was one of the funnest parades I’ve attended so far. There were about 200 floats and I still didn’t want it to end. The parade’s theme this year was “United for Equality.” It was definitely seen and felt in both the parade watchers and participants.

    First time was fun! 2 years ago

    Went to the Winnipeg Pride Parade last month and had a great time. It was nice and sunny and they had a surprisingly long parade. Then some people performing on a stage in the park afterwards. I will definitely go to more in the future, an all around fun time!
